I think it’s clear that Jon Jones will retire without fighting Aspinall, so inevitably Tom Aspinall will become the Heavyweight champ. Once this happens does anyone in the heavyweight division even beat him? The UFC tested Aspinall against one of the hardest hitters in the division in Pavlovich, Aspinall KO’d him in R1. Then the UFC threw one of the divisions best wrestlers at him in Blaydes, Aspinall KO’d him in R1. Then seeing what Ngannou did to Gane, you’d assume if Aspinall was struggling on the feet against Gane he could easily take the fight to the mat and probably submit him. He’s also fought Spivak and KO’d him in R1 and submitted Volkov in R1. I feel as though the only tough fight could be Alex Pereira (if he moves up). Alex could definitely catch Aspinall as we’ve seen him get caught and be quite reckless when trying to land that 1-2, however I still think Aspinall will be too big for Alex and could probably wrestle him to a decision W. Imo I can see Aspinall dominating the Heavyweight division for a while. I’m interested to see how highly people rate Aspinall, and whether or not people think he can dominate the heavyweight division.
