I know that for big majority of UFC fans, Zabit is biggest what if. And probably guy who gave up from sport without reaching his prime or what so... And I agree with nothing of that. So, let's put him against top 5. Ilia Topuria, Volk, Max, Lopes and Movsar.
Ilia Topuria KOs him. Volk wrestlefucks him. Max puts on a clinic 50-43 or gets later rounds TKO. Lopes submits Zabit in 1st or 2nd, and Evloev UD's him. Yeah I said it. All these guys, especially Ilia, Max and Volk, arguably Evloev not yet, but they have done so much more to sport, and if we go further, look at Volk and especially Max's resume. Zabit is 6-0 in the UFC, with 3 wins by sub and 3 by dec. Meaning that, inviolable Zabit striker, has pillow hands. And did you take a look who his wins are against?
Mike Santiago; 22-14 (0-3 in the UFC) Guy who is allergic to submissions. Zabit won here by submission. He is not the first and the last guy who did that to Santiago.
Sheymon Moraes; PFL fighter who's best win is Julio Arce, by split decision. Zabit won here by submission. He was not the only one to submit Moraes.
Kyle Bochniak; 11-7 (2-7 in big organisations) Zabit won by decision here.
Brandon Davies; 14-11 MMA, 17-14 combat sports record. Fought in Bantamweight in his career as well. Zabit won here by submission, not the first guy to submit Davies.
Jeremy Stephens; I know who Lil Heathen is, UFC vet, legend. But this guy has 21 losses in his career. Zabit won by decision here. 8 people managed to finish Jeremy.
Calvin Kattar; Last fight in Zabit's career, and by far best win. I would say his only legit win.
So, nothing that top 5 guys today couldn't do. Or win at first place. Even much more convincingly. (We will skip Evloev for next part) Which is that Ilia, Max, Volk and Lopes are destroying all of them in 1st round. I know that this is not exactly how you measure how good someone is, but I'm just saying that Zabit is overrated and that his wins are far from impressive so that anyone can say he would be in top of the division today. He is something like Giga Chikadze.
