Here’s some cool information I compiled about different states and how prevalent they are in the UFC. I used the roster as listed on Wikipedia, taking anyone with an American flag by their name. For those not born in the US but training there and those I couldn’t find the birth state of online I just put where they train.
There are 11 states in which no current UFC fighters were born: Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming.
There are 16 states that no current fighters train out of, namely the 11 mentioned above along with Ohio, Oklahoma, Idaho, Mississippi, and Nebraska.
