🇲🇽 UFC Fight Night 268 — Mexico City is About to EXPLODE | Feb. 28
UFC Fight Night 268: Moreno vs. Kavanagh! The UFC heads back to Mexico City and this card is absolutely stacked with hometown heroes and intriguing matchups from top to bottom. Let’s break it down.
MAIN EVENT: Brandon Moreno vs. Lone’er Kavanagh (Flyweight)
This fight has drama written all over it. Moreno is a Mexico City legend — the crowd will be absolutely deafening for “The Assassin Baby.” Originally scheduled against Asu Almabayev before injury forced a change, Moreno now faces the unorthodox Irish prospect Lone’er Kavanagh (#15 ranked). Kavanagh is young, dangerous, and has absolutely nothing to lose stepping in on short notice. Don’t sleep on him — but in front of that crowd, with Moreno’s heart and experience? This feels like a statement night for Brandon. Can he force his way back into title contention?
Prediction: Moreno by TKO, Round 3. The crowd lifts him.
CO-MAIN EVENT: Marlon “Chito” Vera vs. David Martinez (Bantamweight)
Chito is beloved in Latin America and desperately needs a W after a rough stretch. Martinez is a rising bantamweight talent who’s here to make a name for himself. This is a crossroads fight for Vera — a loss here could seriously derail his contender status. Expect Chito to come out aggressive and try to make it ugly early.
Prediction: Vera by decision, but Martinez makes him work for every second of it.
UNDERCARD GEMS đź’Ž
Daniel Zellhuber vs. King Green — This lightweight clash is a sleeper pick for Fight of the Night. Both guys love to brawl and neither has much interest in going to the scorecards. Zellhuber, another Mexican fan favorite, will have the crowd going nuts. Green is a veteran with serious punching power. This could be over fast — in either direction.
Edgar Chairez vs. Felipe Bunes — Mexican flyweight Edgar Chairez has been quietly building a solid UFC run. Bunes is tough but this might be Chairez’s coming-out party in front of a home crowd.
Imanol Rodriguez vs. Kevin Borjas — A flyweight scrap between two guys with something to prove. Rodriguez has the tools but Borjas is sneaky dangerous. Classic “may the best man win” energy.
Santiago Luna vs. Angel Pacheco — Opening the card with two hungry bantamweights who’d love nothing more than a bonus-worthy performance. Expect fireworks early.
Overall Card Vibe: This is a heavily Mexico-flavored card and the energy in Arena CDMX is going to be OFF THE CHARTS. When the UFC goes to Mexico, fights tend to be more exciting — everyone wants to perform for that crowd. Expect blood, brawls, and bonus checks.
