What a f*cking card man and to think that we lost a couple fights before it all kicked off with Keita vs Pitbull being cancelled and Fares Ziam pulling out its mental how this card could have been even better. The Main Event Imavov just out does Caio 🇫🇷 This was a pretty high level and technical fight from both men and its one of those fights where I can see the argument for a 50-45 Imavov but also see an argument for 48-47 Caio which is wild. The only definitive round was round 4 as Imavov tuned Caio up in that round for sure. Round 1 was close Caio landed some nice kicks but Imavov landed the more impactful boxing shots and that was the story for most of the fight to be honest. I only edge round 3 to Caio as it was probably his best round of the fight but I feel that the lack of strikes to the head definitely didn’t help him win over the judges. I’m not as mad at the 50-45 as most seem to be to be honest, it was a very competitive fight however and 4 rounds were all pretty close. You can have a competitive 50-45 that does happen sometimes like Petr Yan vs Figgy was competitive every round but Yan won 50-45. It wasn’t a domination by Imavov is what I’m tryna say as those saying it was are genuinely brain dead. Both get 50-45d or choked out by Khamzat realistically, neither match up that well stylistically against him. Decent main event. Co-main event Benoit Saint Denis taps out Mauricio Ruffy 🇫🇷 Well for me that was a surprise, I know some people believed in BSD but all I saw was a blockhead with genuinely 0 head movement about to throw down with a very accurate and powerful striker… nope Benoit turns it on straight away pressuring with the grappling immediately and mixing up his sh*tty slow body kick with a big ol headkick that was super effective on Ruffy. Ruffy just completely froze up on the fence and BSD was able to get his grappling off very nicely. However Mauricio Ruffy I dunno if the kids f*cking r*tard*d or what but why the actual f*ck was he letting BSD up every time he reversed position? Land some f*cking ground and pound ffs stop aura farming Benoit is not Paul Craig you can go to the ground with him lmao. BSD forces the tap in round 2 with a face crank, honestly didn’t look thaaaaat bad but I could see that Ruffy was fading hard and in my head I remember saying “oh he is quiting” when he was shelled up getting smashed while BSD had his back and near flattened out. I don’t think Mauricio Ruffy is a jobber by any means but he definitely isn’t the level of Islam Machakchev like he was chatting lol. Featured Fight Paul Craig retires 🥲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I mean he wasn’t doing that bad to be fair his striking looked a little better than usual to be fair but yeah pulls guard way to late in the round and Modestas Bukauskas slimes me out with a brutal elbow. It honestly felt like watching my dad get colded this one hurt more than the usual as I had a feeling Paul was gonna hang them up and yep I was in-fact correct. Nice retirement and at-least he got to say his piece, really wish we got one last crazy triangle upset on some -1000 prospect but it wasn’t meant to be. Mason Jones survives the early adversity as he gets stung bad by Oki who sits Jones down and I’m seeing my parlay crumble before my eyes but thankfully Jones locks the f*ck in and sits Oki down himself once he starts timing his jab. He really wanted that Kimura but Oki was strong and survived it somehow but round 2 Oki clearly gassed out, Jones landed a nasty hip toss and then gets full mount relatively easily and smashes Oki till the ref stops him. Another great win for Mason Jones, this 2nd UFC run for him has been a lot of fun excited to see him continue this run. Axel Sola + Rhys Mckee have a low level scrap 🇫🇷 Genuinely both guys looked mid asf I dunno if that was just me but they both looked slow and just kind of shit especially Axel Sola being undefeated he just did not look that good at all and I think a better man than Mckee will fraud check him for sure.
