Geoff Neal🇺🇸 (16-6) is a southpaw who presses forward and effectively uses angles to create openings for his fast, accurate, and powerful counters or high volume combinations that include jabs, lead rights, left straights, hooks, uppercuts, head kicks, body kicks, and leg kicks. Neal overall has solid striking defense and is successful because of his pressure but because he has a tendency to overextend on punches it leaves him vulnerable to being landed on by technical strikers who have good counters, think back to the Wonderboy fight. Geoff's an oddly inconsistent fighter, having the skill to be competitive with Garry/Shavkat then losing to Magny in others. Carlos Prates🇧🇷 (21-7) presses forward and uses his Muay Thai base combined with his 78 inch reach to manage distance then from either close or long range land accurate and powerful combinations that include jabs, long straight punches, hooks crosses, elbows, knees to the body, front kicks to the body, body kicks, and leg kicks. One of the only downsides of how he uses his frame is that when he picks his shots it can lead to him being low volume and Neal could look to fill in the gaps with activity and pull ahead in the fight. In my opinion the worst thing about Prates's game is how low he keeps his hands, it has resulted in him being touched by the likes of Trevin Giles and Charles Radtke which I really don't like. My pick is Prates (RD2 TKO/DEC). Neal struggles with longer fighters but I really could see him getting a win via counter shot KO or something wild.
