UFC Abu Dhabi Robert Whittaker vs Reiner De Ridder full card review, honestly was a card of highs and lows as it definitely had a few fights that really shut down the momentum of the card but it wasn’t bad by any means. The Main Event Bobby Knuckles 🦘 vs RDR 🇳🇱 Decent fight especially the first 3 rounds before RDR took over with his clinch nd kind of just smudged Whittaker on the cage and landing rabbit punches and knees. Round 4 and 5 weren’t very entertaining at all but I can understand that RDR was doing what he needed to do to win, as Bobby really didn’t have any answers to the clinch work as he just found himself pinned against the fence for most of rounds 4 and pretty much the whole of round 5. Not a robbery at all I don’t even know how it was a split to be honest but I could be biased considering I was rooting for RDR. I told y’all the RDR title run starts now WE will be getting DDP vs RDR. That being said I am pretty gutted for ol Bobby Knucks as obviously I am a huge fan of his, still some fun fights for him but I don’t really know what he does now as he’s gonna be out of the top 5 for the first time in absolutely ages and doesn’t have a path to the title anymore if he even had one before this fight. Never a good day when Robert Whittaker loses. Co-Main Petr Yan🇷🇺 vs Marcus Mcghee👹 Wow Petr Yan won a 29-28 in which he won rounds 2 and 3 who could have seen that coming… other than literally 99% of mma fans lmao. Not much to say really Yan looked good round 1 was pretty competitive and then Yan took over in 2 and 3 Mcghee is pretty tough and did alright. Such a pointless fight honestly and it may be an unpopular opinion but I just found this fight boring because it was like watching a film that I have already watched 5 times if you get what I mean. There was no “ooh Mcghee could fluke this” it was just yep Yan is gonna win easily nice glad I stayed up for this one. Give Yan a title shot or the O’malley rematch. Marcus Mcghee can fight f*cking Aleksandre Topuria for all I care. Shara Bullet 🇷🇺 vs Marc-Andre Barrialt 🇨🇦 Decent scrap definitely fight of the night. Shara was doing his usual flashy kicks and piecing Barrialt up absolutely battering his legs. But holy this fight highlights a weakness, Shara does not have good boxing at all… he can kick amazing he has great spinning attacks and he has very good clinch game but his boxing is terrible. Barrialt showed great heart and broke Shara’s nose holy Bullet is an ugly bast*rd. Other than that huge moment in round 2 it was pretty much all Shara but still a good fight. Give Bullet Michel Pereira that would be a fun fight with a whole lot of spinning, or maybe give him Roman Kopylov. Asu Almaybaev 💤 vs Jose Ochoa🇵🇪 Yes I picked Jose Ochoa yes I believed the hype and yes I still do I don’t care… Asu Almaybaev showed great cardio and work rate but holy this was just takedown after takedown Asu was clearly scared to engage with Jose on the feet and when he did… bro had megative power lmao the commentary were shouting as if those overhands were damaging and Ochoa didn’t even look phased lol. Good win for Asu I guess but this fight was pretty boring… who the f*cking points to the centre with a minute to go and then shoots a takedown man. Nikita Krylov🇷🇺 vs Bogdan Guskov🇺🇿 Way too soon to be returning for Krylov why would he even be allowed to come back 2 months after getting brutally slumped out cold by Dominick Reyes… very silly decision by Krylov’s team to let him do this. That being said masterful from Bogdan Guskov, he was patient took his time made his read on the sloppy low kicks coming his way from Krylov and capitalised nearly putting him out with a big punch over the top before getting him out with ground and pound. Great performance from Bogdan Guskov give him Jamahal Hill or an Oezdemir rematch Anthony Smith is back 🇺🇿 Prelims Bryce Mitchel🇺🇸 vs Said Nurmadurkadurk🇷🇺 Someone tell Bryce that Said has no relation to the Khabib Nurmagomedov family lol! This fight was pretty f*cking boring, Bryce realised he was outclassed on the feet after round 1 and so he just pushed with the takedowns and grappling and he was able to control Said for rounds 2 and 3. Fine debut for Bryce Mitchel and while it was boring he got the job done. Not much to say I think you do Bryce Mitchel vs Henry Cejudo because the grappling exchanges would be very fun. Muslim Salikhov🐐 vs Roid Cheat🇧🇷 Carlos Leal underestimated Salikhov and rushed in like a moron, trying to shut down Salikhovs kicks but Salikhov has hands to and Leal learnt that the hard way. Sick ko absolute scenes literally jumped out of my seat realy enjoyed that one. Love the call out give us Wonderboy vs Salihkov. Davey Grant 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs D’amon Blackshear🇺🇸 WE were all tempted to pick Davey Grant but I was one of the few who actually did. I f*cking love Davey Grant man bro is so goated for no reason. D’amon takes Davey down and controls him for rounds 1 but rounds 2 and 3 were all Davey Grant piecing D’amon up on the feet with his striking combinations backing him up to the fence and stopping his takedowns. Great performance from Davey Grant can’t wait to see him return in 2 years to fraud check another up and coming fighter. Amanda Ribas🇧🇷 vs Tabatha Ricci 🦈 You can’t be getting finished by Tabatha Ricci come on man… sold everyones parlay. Great win for Ricci I guess she can get battered by Tatiana Suaerz because the UFC will give her someone way up the rankings as they seem to love her. Ibo Aslan🇹🇷 vs Billy Elekana🇺🇸 Fight of the year I mean wow Ibo Aslan is so good man the way he landed 3 strikes a round was so tough. I hope this shuts up all the Turkish fans on instagram glazing Ibo because how bad was that fight. Good for Billy I guess but like that was so so so sh*t. Mohammad Yahya🇦🇪 vs Steven Nguyen🇺🇸 This was like when you fight your sh*t friend on UFC 5 and just knock them down over and over again… I don’t even think the reffing was thaaat bad because Steven Nguyen just couldn’t finish his dinner as that was terrible ground and pound. Granted the ref should have stopped it when he went down the 3rd or 4th time but oh well… Mohammad Yahya is a tough motherf*cker he might no be able to fight but he can take a whole lot more damage than most.
