Jiri Prochazka rematches Glover Teixeira for the Light Heavyweight title at UFC 282 on Dec. 10th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas per John Morgan.

This 5-round championship fight will take place in the Light Heavyweight (205 lbs) division.

Glover Teixeira holds a professional record of 33-8 and is currently ranked #1 in the Light Heavyweight division. His notable wins include Jan Blachowicz, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith.

Jiri Prochazka holds a professional record of 29-3-1 and is the Light Heavyweight champion. His notable wins include Glover Teixeira, Dominick Reyes, and Volkan Oezdemir.

The pair fought each other in May at UFC 275 where Teixeira was the defending champion and Prochazka the challenger. They competed in one of the greatest fights of all time that night with back-and-forth action throughout. Prochazka would secure the comeback win and submit Teixeira in the 5th round.

Before this bout, Glover won the title off of Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267 in 2021. He became the oldest ever 1st-time UFC champion at 41. He earned the title shot by securing 5 wins in a row and sitting on the sidelines while then-champion Jan Blachowicz answered the challenge of Israel Adesanya.

Prochazka’s road to the title inside the UFC was much quicker than Glover’s. After just two spectacular knockout wins, he earned a shot at gold and capitalized on it, becoming UFC champion in just 3 fights.

Now the roles are reversed and it is Teixeira chasing after what Prochazka has.

Here’s the updated bout order for UFC 282:
