Santos will compete in the 2023 season as a PFL Light Heavyweight and is one of the most high-profile signings in history. Unfortunately, his exit from the UFC was not a graceful one as he has gone 1-5 in his last 6 before leaving the promotion.

A string of injuries turned him from a devastating striker to a more tentative point-fighter in recent fights. His last fight delivered, though, as he won fight of the night vs. Jamahal Hill in a main event last month. He lost the fight by 4th-round TKO but gave it his all during the fight. He was ahead on 2 judges' scorecards.

The PFL has been making leaps and bounds in the quality of its roster during the last few years. They've signed major UFC athletes such as Anthony Pettis, Rory Macdonald, Jeremy Stephens, and most recently Shane Burgos and Thiago Santos. They don't lack in home-grown talent at all with fighters like Kayla Harrison, Clay Collard, Raush Manfio, and more.

The PFL seems to be entering a new phase as the level of talent grows. Now they welcome Thiago Santos to their roster.
