The former UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling has announced that he'll be having his next fight inside the UFC in the Featherweight (145 lbs) division. The announcement came via Demetrious Johnson's podcast, MightyCast (Mighty Gaming) on YouTube.
Sterling is coming off his first loss since 2017, losing to Sean O'Malley at UFC 292 for the Bantamweight title. With his close friend and teammate, Merab Dvalishvili, closing in on a tlte shot in the same division, and weight cuts becoming increasingly harder for the large 135er, the move makes a lot of sense. When asked about what the future holds, this is what "Funkmaster" had to say.
The oddsmakers are always confident in Israel Adesanya.

Sterling also previously called out Max Holloway, the #1 ranked Featherweight contender, which could be an incredible stylistic matchup if the fight is made.
