At PFL Europe 1, Cédric Doumbé will make his sophomore PFL appearance, headlining the Accor Arena against equally undefeated talent Baissangour Chamsoudinov, who holds a professional record of 7-0. Ahead of his next fight, "Le Meilleur" (French for "The Best") spoke to the media to discuss his matchup and some recent comments surrounding the MMA world.

One of the more interesting moments of the interview was when Doumbé was asked about his opinions on Benoit Saint-Denis' comments on the face of French MMA, more the fact that "BSD" believed Ciryl Gane to be a bigger superstar than Doumbé.

I am 100% the face of French MMA. Some people think you can't be the face if you're not in the UFC. But it's about your performance. Can BSD sell out the Accor Arena in less than 20 minutes? Can Ciryl Gane? I don't think so.
- Cédric Doumbé

Another important question for "The Best" was about his future opponents. With the recent PFL acquisition of Bellator, there's a myriad of options available for Doumbé moving forward. However, the Frenchman was dismissively unenticed by anyone on the Bellator roster.

I don't even know the name of the Bellator Champion, so I have no clue on who to fight. But they know me.
- Cédric Doumbé

However, there was one opponent that received the callout, but it wasn't to anyone signed with Bellator, or the PFL for that matter. Instead, it was former UFC Champion and now Karate Combat competitor Anthony "Showtime" Pettis who garnered the intrigue of Doumbé. Pettis's most recent bout was a unanimous decision victory over Benson Henderson at Karate Combat 43.

I want to fight Anthony Pettis . The former UFC Champ. But for me, it doesn't matter. If they put me in the tournament (PFL Playoffs), I will win it.
- Cédric Doumbé

Cédric Doumbé was also full of confidence heading into his sixth professional MMA bout, and dismisses the fans desire to watch his ground game in action.

I want another first round knockout. I want people to dream. I don't want my opponents to know my level on the ground. If I can stay on my feet, I'll do it.
- Cédric Doumbé

Finally, when asked about his fight against Chamsoudinov, he believes this matchup is the biggest MMA fight in French MMA history. With it being two Frenchmen fighting in France's largest Arena, there's definitely an argument for it.

This is the biggest MMA fight in French history; I'm excited to be a massive actor in this. We've never seen this kind of hype around a fight in France before.
- Cédric Doumbé
