An exciting top-15 matchup has just been announced. Chris Curtis will face Anthony Hernandez on September 16th inside the T-Mobile Arena for a currently undisclosed UFC Fight Night, per Mike Heck.
This bout takes place in the Middleweight (185 lbs) division.
Chris Curtis holds a professional record of 30-10-1NC (4-2-1NC UFC) and is ranked #15 in the Middleweight division. He holds notable wins over Joaquin Buckley, Phil Hawes, and Brendan Allen.
Anthony Hernandez is currently unranked in the Middleweight division and holds a professional record of 11-2 (5-2 UFC), with noteworthy wins over Edmen Shahbazyan, Marc-Andre Barriault, and Rodolfo Vieira.
Official odds have yet to be released.
Chris Curtis is coming off an unfortunate no-contest against Nassourdine Imavov at UFC 289. Curtis would start the bout slowly but catch Imavov, especially the body. However, an accidental head clash gave Curtis a nasty cut over his eye, forcing the bout to be stopped. This will be Curtis's fourth fight in the last 12 months, and he'll be looking to snap his two-fight winless streak by using his crisp boxing in this bout.
Anthony Hernandez is coming off a career-best performance. He faced Edmen Shahbazyan in his last bout. Despite a rocky start, "Fluffy" dominated Shahbazyan in the last two rounds by weaponizing his cardio and wrestling and eventually secured a third-round TKO. Hernandez is now getting a crack at his first-ranked opponent, and he'll look to use his cardio and wrestling to secure the victory in this matchup.
