It is the halfway point of the season as we have reached week five of this year's Dana White's Contender Series. I went over every matchup on tomorrow's card to give my predictions and bets, so let's get into it.
Odds provided by Duelbits accurate as of 9/9/2025
Heavyweights collide in the final fight of the evening. Anthony Guarascio comes in here with very little experience, having just four pro fights, but he has looked very good with clean boxing that has put three opponents out in under two minutes. Steven Asplund is an in-your-face brawler who is not afraid to eat a shot in the pocket, but he has shown a serious weakness in the grappling, having been dominated there at times.
Despite his lack of experience, Guarascio is the far more technical fighter and is clearly more powerful. This, combined with his lack of defense from Aspland, leads me to believe this is going to be another early finish for Guarascio.
Prediction: Guarascio by 1st Round KO
Fun matchup here between brawlers at Featherweight. Cam Teague is a tough pressure striker who keeps a high pace but leaves himself open to big shots while doing so. Lerryan Douglas is a striker who swings big combinations at his opponents, which has helped him win four straight fights by knockout.
Douglas may not win every minute of this fight, but over three rounds, he will be able to do enough damage to get Teague out of there and secure a contract.
Prediction: Douglas by 2nd Round TKO
This matchup features Light Heavyweights who have combined for ten first-round finishes across their young careers. Felipe Franco is a powerful finisher who has ended all of his professional fights inside one round, utilizing a combination of solid boxing and strong wrestling, although he has not faced any serious competition. Freddy Vidal is a dangerous striker, although he has been put in some horrible positions on the ground against very low-level competition, which is a massive concern.
I like Franco to get another early finish here as he is much better on the ground and will be able to get it there early.
Prediction: Franco by 1st Round Submission
Hard hitters square off in this one at Lightweight. Chasen Blair is an awkward striker who blitzes in and throws hard kicks, but he lacks volume and gets hit a lot himself, while also having been submitted early not long ago. Samuel Sanches is a young kickboxer with strong low kicks and fast hands, which he showed off by knocking out his last opponent in under a minute.
I'm taking Sanches here as he is the more active and dangerous striker while being more defensively responsible.
Prediction: Sanches by 1st Round TKO
First women's fight of the season kicks the night off at Strawweight. Shanella Dyer is a fast and sharp kickboxer who comes in with solid experience, having competed in PFL Europe. Carol Foro is a pressure striker who has broken down her opponents by mixing her boxing and kicks between the head and body to finish her last six fights by knockout.
I lean towards Foro here as I see her pressure and volume giving her an edge, and both fighters are dangerous enough to land a big shot, so I'll take the underdog.
Prediction: Foro by Decision
