Darren Till vs. Dricus du Plessis is verbally agreed to and in the works for UFC 282 on December 10th according to Brett Okamoto.
This fight will take place in the Middleweight division where Till is ranked #9 and du Plessis is #13.
Darren Till began his UFC career undefeated and made his way to a title shot at 170 against then champion Tyron Woodley. He lost the fight and has gone 1-4 since. His most recent fight was a 3rd-round submission loss to Derek Brunson in September 2021. A string of injuries has removed him from 3 more scheduled fights since.
Dricus du Plessis hails from South Africa and is currently 3-0 in the UFC. He has a very well-rounded skillset and a dangerous ground game. His hands have been the choice of weapon in the UFC though as he finished his first two opponents by KO and won his last fight against Brad Tavares in a slugfest. He is a promising prospect on a fast rise to the top.
Darren Till is in hot waters since a loss here would be his 5th out of his last 6 fights in the UFC.
