As per ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Darren Till has withdrawn from his scheduled UFC London co-main event against Jack Hermansson due to an undisclosed injury. The event is scheduled to take place on July 23rd at The O2 Arena in London, England headlined by a Heavyweight fight between Till’s teammate Tom Aspinall against Curtis Blaydes.
Till has not competed since losing to Derek Brunson by submission in September of 2021. This would have been Till’s first fight in the UK since losing to Jorge Masvidal in March of 2019.
The UFC returned to the UK in March of this year with a memorable card headlined by a Heavyweight feature between Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov. It was an exciting card that featured several fighters from the UK.
Given the success of the event this past March, UFC President Dana White vowed to bring the UFC back to the UK in 2022.
Though Till has withdrawn from his fight, the event still features several stars including Tom Aspinall, Paddy Pimblett, Alexander Gustafsson, Paul Craig, Molly McCann, and Volkan Oezdemir.
As per Marc Raimondi, the frontrunner to replace Darren Till to fight Jack Hermansson is Chris Curtis who is coming off of a unanimous decision win against Rodolfo Vieira at UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot.
