Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill are set to fight on a bigger stage. As multiple insiders have confirmed, the match-up is now the main event for UFC Vegas 73 on May 20th and has been extended to a five-round bout.

The bout was initially scheduled for only three rounds at Saturday's UFC on ABC 4 in Charlotte. However, this alteration was necessary after Irene Aldana withdrew from an upcoming fight with Raquel Pennington and instead was tapped to replace Julianna Peña at UFC 289 agasint double-champion Amanda Nunes. As a result, a new headliner was needed for the UFC Vegas 73 event, which Dern and Hill happily stepped up to fulfill.

Dern, a seasoned fighter with seven wins from 10 octagon appearances, seeks redemption after her last fight. She lost by majority decision to Yan Xiaonan in October of last year and will make the best of this new spotlight to get back on her winning ways.

On the other hand, Hill is a former Invicta FC champion looking to make a statement by extending her longest UFC winning streak. Having come out on top in her last two fights against Lupita Godinez and Emily Ducote in 2022, Hill needs to keep her momentum rolling to reach a new level in her career at 38 years old.
