Gillian Robertson hasn't fought in front of her home fans in Canada since 2019, so given the opportunity to make a statement at UFC 297, "The Savage" didn't disappoint, putting on a career-best performance in her sixteenth UFC fight.

The girls wasted no time on the feet, but Robertson quickly shot for a takedown and secured it early in the first. In the first round, Robertson was all over Viana, attempting multiple submissions that the Brazillian had to grit through, easily winning Robertson the round. A single-leg attempt in the second round put Viana back on the mat. This time, Robertson opted for heavy ground strikes over submission attempts, landing elbows and punches. Eventually, it was enough for the referee to step in and stop the contest in the second round.

I knew it was going to happen. This is my second TKO ever; Canada is my good luck charm. When it comes to the ground, this is my world, and no one is messing with it.
