A monumental fight in the Heavyweight division has just been announced. The UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones will face former Champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in Maddison Square Garden in New York, New York, per Dana White.

This 5-round title bout takes place in the Heavyweight (265 lbs) division.

Jon Jones holds a professional record of 27-1-1NC (21-1-1NC UFC) and is the reigning Heavyweight Champion. He holds notable wins over Daniel Cormier, Ciryl Gane, and Alexander Gustafsson.

Stipe Miocic is ranked #3 in the Heavyweight division and holds a professional record of 20-4 (14-4 UFC). He has credible wins over Francis Ngannou, Alistair Overeem, and Daniel Cormier.

Official odds: Jon Jones -340, Stipe Miocic +230, per BestFightOdds.com as of July 7th, 7:30 PM.

Jon Jones is regarded as one of the, if not the greatest mixed martial artists ever to live. He's coming off a stunning performance at UFC 285, where he came off a three-year absence, submitted Ciryl Gane in the first round, and became the UFC Heavyweight Champion. Jones completely dominated Gane, absorbing seven strikes during the contest. Now, he aims to take out the most accomplished Heavyweight Champion the UFC has seen, and he'll look to use his complete skillset to do so.

Stipe Miocic hasn't fought since 2021. His last fight was the first title defense of his second reign as UFC Champion, where he attempted to defeat Francis Ngannou for the second time. However, he was KOed in the second round and has been absent from the octagon since. Now, he'll attempt to recapture the Heavyweight title for the third time in his career. But he'll have to hand Jon Jones his first legitimate loss in MMA to do it. Miocic will look to use his wrestling and dangerous boxing to claim the victory and further cement himself in UFC history.
