Kai Kara-France will meet Alex Perez on close to home soil at UFC 284 in Perth on Feb. 11th per MMA Junkie.
This fight will take place in the Flyweight (125 lbs) division.
Kai Kara-France holds a professional record of 24-10-0 and is currently ranked #3. His notable wins include Cody Garbrandt, Askar Askarov, and Rogerio Bontorin.
Alex Perez holds a professional record of 24-7-0 and is currently ranked #5. His notable wins include Jussier Formiga, Jordan Espinosa, and Mark De La Rosa.
Kai Kara-France’s last fight didn’t go according to prediction as he suffered a 3rd-round TKO loss to Brandon Moreno. The fight had interim gold on the line and was a rematch years in the making. Kara-France put himself into contendership with a 1st-round knockout win over Cody Garbrandt at UFC 269 last year and solidified his spot in the title fight after taking the undefeated record of Askar Askarov at UFC Austin this year.
Alex Perez has had a tough run as of late, suffering two 1st-round submission losses in a row vs. Deiveson Figueiredo and Alexandre Pantoja. The nearly two years of inactivity between the losses can be blamed on multiple fights being canceled against Matt Schnell and Askar Askarov.
The pressure is on for both fighters to pick up a win here as Kara-France will be in front of his own people and Perez tries to avoid a 3-fight losing streak.
