A massive top-10 rematch has just been announced. Manel Kape will face Matheus Nicolau in a rematch on April 27th in a five-round main event fight in Paradise, Nevada, inside the UFC Apex, per Alex Behunin.
This five-round main event takes place in the Flyweight (125 lbs) division.
Matheus Nicolau is ranked #5 in the Flyweight division and holds a professional record of 19-3-1 (7-2 UFC), with credible wins over Matt Schnell, Tim Elliott, and Manel Kape.
Manel Kape holds a professional record of 19-6 (4-2 UFC) and is ranked #6 in the Flyweight division. He holds notable wins over David Dvorak, Felipe Dos Santos, and Ode Osbourne.
Official odds have yet to be released.
The two Flyweights will be rematching after their first bout nearly three years ago, where Matheus Nicolau took home a controversial split-decision victory. Since then, Manel Kape has won four fights straight, including two KO/TKO finishes.
Matheus Nicolau has gone 3-1 since they last met, only losing to Brandon Royval in a title eliminator bout in April of 2023. Both men need a win to move themselves into the title picture, and this time, they will have an extra two rounds to prove who the better fighter is.
