Like many others, UFC Lightweight contender Matt Frevola had some harsh words for Paddy Pimblett following his recent controversial win at UFC 282 over Jared Gordon.
Although he wasn’t kind, Frevola most certainly wasn’t dismissive of Paddy’s abilities. He gave credit where credit was due and acknowledged the matchup for what it is.
Frevola knows that Paddy is no slouch, and neither is he.
Matt Frevola holds a professional record of 10-3-1 and is currently unranked. His notable wins include Jalin Turner, Ottman Azaitar, and Raush Manfio.
Paddy Pimblett holds a professional record of 20-3-0 and is currently unranked. His notable wins include Luigi Vendramini, Rodrigo Vargas, and Jordan Leavitt.
Frevola’s last two wins saw him record six knockdowns and two 1st-round knockouts over undefeated fighters Genaro Valdez and Ottman Azaitar. He holds a win over the 10th-ranked Lightweight Jalin Turner and is steadily climbing the ranks.
His 4-0 start in the UFC began with three finishes. Despite facing adversity in all 3, things were looking good for the Scouse prospect. The overwhelming support drowned out the doubters until his last fight, where he defeated Jared Gordon by a unanimous decision at UFC 282 in what is considered the biggest robbery of 2022.
Paddy lost many fans with his post-fight behavior, refusing to admit that the fight was close, let alone that he may have lost.
Frevola has been looking for the Pimblett fight for some time, and given the circumstances regarding both of their last fights, it may be the time for it to happen.
