A top-10 matchup between Matt Schnell and David Dvořák has just been announced for UFC 289 at a currently unconfirmed location and venue, per MMA Orbit.
This fight takes place in the Flyweight (125 lbs) division.
Matt "Danger" Schnell is ranked #8 at Flyweight and holds a professional record of 16-8 (6-6 UFC). He holds notable wins over Sumudaerji, Tyson Nam, and Louis Smolka.
David "Undertaker" Dvořák is ranked #10 at Flyweight, holding a professional record of 20-5 (3-2 UFC), claiming significant wins over Juancamilo Ronderos, Bruno Silva, and Jordan Espinosa.
Official odds have yet to be released.
Matt Schnell will look to rebound from his TKO loss to Matheus Nicolau last December. Schnell would be overwhelmed during the bout, suffering two knockdowns before succumbing to ground and pound in the second round. Although he's 2-4 in his last six, "Danger" brings entertainment every time he fights, resulting in multiple Fight of The Night winners throughout his career. Schnell will be looking to get back into the win column with a victory over Dvořák in this bout.
David Dvořák will also be looking to get back into the win column following a dominant loss to Manel Kape in December. Dvořák would suffer an early kimura scare, forcing him to fight with one arm for most of the bout, eventually losing by decision. Despite his recent losses, he's a very well-rounded martial artist looking to secure his fourth UFC victory and climb the ladder to the top-5 of the division.
