Nate Diaz is on to bigger and better things as he plans to create his own combat sports league called Real Fight Inc. He revealed that he will be applying for a promoter's license in the coming weeks to kickstart his new career.
Diaz, a lifelong martial artist, further detailed that this will not spell an end to his fighting career as he still plans to compete professionally. He will compete this weekend at UFC 279.
UFC 279 features Diaz's return to the octagon, and perhaps his final one. The fight is the last on his UFC contract and he has made it abundantly clear he does not plan to sign a new one. He takes on undefeated Chechen superstar Khamzat Chimaev in the PPV main event in Las Vegas.
Many view this fight as set up for Diaz to lose and propel Chimaev into the title picture. The oddsmakers think no different as Diaz stands as high as +1000 at the time of writing. He doesn't let the fact that he is a 10 to 1 underdog deter him though, and he plans to end the hype in dramatic fashion.
This outcome of this fight will weigh heavily on Nate Diaz's stock before he chases separate endeavors.
