The PFL is back tomorrow with another card of action from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, headlined by the Middleweight Tournament Final as Fabian Edwards takes on Dalton Rosta. I went over the card to give my predictions and bets, so let's get into it.
Odds provided by Duelbits accurate as of 8/20/2025
The Middleweight tournament final serves as our main event as heated rivals square off. Fabian Edwards is a striker with dangerous knees and elbows, although he did struggle with the wrestling of Johnny Eblen. Dalton Rosta is a strong wrestler who comes in off an impressive tournament where he submitted Sadibou Sy and avenged his only career loss to Aaron Jeffery.
I've got Rosta here, as he has the grappling advantage and is training at American Top Team, where he is surely getting good work in. Meanwhile, Edwards has struggled with wrestlers before, including Johnny Eblen and Austin Vanderford.
Prediction: Rosta by Decision
This will be the Heavyweight tournament final. Oleg Popov is a well-rounded fighter who trains with Team Fedor and enters this having beaten two former UFC fighters in Rodrigo Nascimento and Karl Williams. Alexandr Romanov is a large and strong grappler who is particularly dangerous early, especially when he can get on top, although his cardio has let him down on several occasions.
I'm picking Popov here as he is the more well-rounded fighter with much better cardio. If he can survive the early rounds, he should take over late and get a finish.
Prediction: Popov by 3rd Round TKO
The Light Heavyweight tournament final goes down here. Antonio Carlos Jr. is a dangerous submission grappler who has largely dominated since joining the PFL, having won eight of his nine fights with the promotion. Sullivan Cauley is a hard-hitting striker with solid wrestling skills coming into this off a huge upset victory over the experienced Phil Davis.
I lean towards Cauley here, as he is the more powerful and dangerous striker, while also possessing the athleticism and skills to defend or recover from takedowns.
Prediction: Cauley by Decision
Showcase spot here for an interesting prospect at Featherweight. Alexei Pergande is a young and unbeaten prospect from the famed Kill Cliff FC, who has shown a lot of potential and well-rounded skills. Ethan Goss is an experienced fighter with well-rounded finishing skills who makes his PFL debut here after an early submission loss.
Pergande should pass this test, as he has gained plenty of experience in the PFL cage and trains with one of the top teams in the world, leading me to expect consistent development.
Prediction: Pergande by 1st Round Submission
Undefeated Bantamweights with grappling backgrounds face off in this one. Bryce Meredith is a relentless wrestler with a good submission game and strong top control. Lazaro Dayron is an athletic fighter who comes into this off a PFL debut, where he drew with veteran Danny Sabatello in a fight where he showed he can use his wrestling defensively and strike with opponents comfortably.
I'll go with Dayron here as he is the more well-rounded fighter who can be competitive in both striking and grappling scenarios, and he has proven himself against tougher competition.
Prediction: Dayron by Decision
Top Middleweights square off here looking to build momentum. Impa Kasanganay is a skilled volume striker who has been a champion with the PFL, although his durability is a concern, as he is coming off two straight knockout losses. Andrew Sanchez is a gritty wrestler who wears opponents down with his clinch game, although he is very hittable and doesn't have the best chin.
I like Kasanganay to get back in the win column here, as he is the more damaging striker, who can avoid the wrestling enough to do damage and either secure a late stoppage or a decision win.
Prediction: Kasanganay by 3rd Round TKO
