Raquel Pennington is currently on the longest win streak in the division with five straight victories. Her latest win came on the first card of this year in the form of a split decision over Ketlen Vieira. She holds a previous victory over Aldana via split decision.
It was previously reported that Irene Aldana was likely to be next to challenge Amanda Nunes for the title; however, it appears the UFC has moved in another direction with both fighters. Aldana is coming off a third-round knockout via Upkick to the liver over Macy Chiasson.
