Sam Patterson Upsets Yohan Lainesse's Return to Canada at UFC 297

It was a nightmare for the fans in attendance at UFC 297, but a dream for the United Kingdom's Sam Patterson, who secured his first octagon victory in enemy territory.

Both men felt each other out in the opening minutes. Lainesse landed the first decisive blow on Pattersons' chin, but the Brit ate it well. However, it was an easy submission victory in the first round once Patterson made contact in the grappling and locked up the rear-naked choke.
