Sean O'Malley had dropped one of his hot MMA questions on the most recent episode of his podcast, the TimboSugarShow.

Sean O'Malley is one of the UFCs biggest superstars, and on the 239th episode of his podcast, which he films alongside his longtime coach Tim Welch, O'Malley started discussing the success of a female-only UFC promotion.

What if there was a WUFC (Women's Ultimate Fighting Championship)? Would it last? Would they be able to sell PPVs? Sell out arenas?

The question arose following the retirement of Amanda Nunes at UFC 289, where she defeated Irene Aldana in a one-sided decision. At the press conference of UFC 289, Dana White told the media that Nunes' retirement "probably" marks the end of the Women's Featherweight division. This means there will only be three female divisions in the UFC - Strawweight, Flyweight, and Bantamweight, compared to the eight male divisions.

Women have always fought inside the UFC, with the first bout being Ronda Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche. The women's divisions have produced many world-famous champions, including Holly Holm, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Rose Namajunas, and Zhang Weili. However, other promotions promote female-only MMA fights that have remained popular over the years, such as Invicta FC, founded eleven years ago in 2012.
