Dana White recently announced several fights on all UFC platforms, including an unlikely main event fight between Sean Strickland and Abus Magomedov.

This 5-round fight takes place in the Middleweight (185 lbs) division.

Sean Strickland holds a professional record of 26-5-0 (13-5 UFC) and is currently ranked #7. His notable wins include Nassourdine Imavov, Jack Hermansson, and Uriah Hall.

Abus Magomedov holds a professional record of 25-4-1 (1-0 UFC) and is currently unranked. His notable wins include Dustin Stolzefus, Sadibou Sy, and Cezariusz Kęsik.

This fight came as a shock to many, as Abus has had one UFC fight thus far. He finished Dustin Stolzefus in 19 seconds at UFC Paris with a front kick and vicious follow-up shots. Dana White described Abus as "a guy that literally nobody wants to fight," and for good reason. He's a Dagestani who can strike and trains with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Although he is Dagestani, he now lives and breathes German air and trains in Düsseldorf. This is the fastest track from unranked to a top 7 fighter in the Middleweight division in recent history.

Sean Strickland's last four opponents will consist of Alex Pereira, Jared Canonnier, Nassourdine Imavov on short notice, and now Abus Magomedov. Win or lose, he's willing to take on any man the UFC puts in front of him and has done so on several occasions. Stickland has strong boxing, but many fans believe he lacks in BJJ and kickboxing. Either way, he's a top 7 Middleweight defending his ranking against the current boogeyman.
