Sean Woodson put his moniker "The Sniper" to good meaning at UFC 297, successfully picking apart the hometown fighter Charles Jourdain to win a split-decision on the prelims.

Jourdain immediately went after Woodson's legs, and both men connected hard with shots in the first round. Woodson had the most significant strike with a big knee up the middle. "The Sniper" Woodson was more measured in round 2, picking Jourdain apart and fending off the takedowns. A late head kick got through for "Air" Jourdain to close out the second. Jourdain got creative in the third round, attempting to land various high kicks and spinning attacks, but Woodson shut them down. A late guillotine attempt was there for Jourdain, but Woodson escaped with seconds left on the clock.

Charles is a tricky dude and kicks hard as hell, but I gutted it out and did what I had to do to win.
