A huge top-15 fight in the Welterweight division has just been announced. Shavkhat Rakhmonov will fight Kelvin Gastelum in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, per Dana White.

This bout takes place in the Welterweight (170 lbs) division.

Shavkhat Rakhmonov holds a perfect record of 17-0 (5-0 UFC) and is ranked #6 in the Welterweight division. He holds notable wins over Geoff Neal, Neil Magny, and Alex Oliveira.

Kelvin Gastelum holds a professional record of 18-8-1NC (12-8-1NC UFC) and is ranked #12 in the Middleweight division. He has credible wins over Chris Curtis, Michael Bisping, and Uriah Hall.

Official odds have yet to be released.

Shavkhat Rakhmonov is coming off a Fight Of The Year contender against Geoff Neal at UFC 285: Jones vs. Gane. Many saw this as the step-up in a competition that Rakhmonov needed to prove he belonged in the top 10, and he didn't disappoint. After winning the first two rounds, Rakhmonov would get badly rocked in the third but rally through a storm and secure a late standing-guillotine choke. Rakhmonov is an incredibly well-rounded fighter who is a significant threat in the Welterweight division, and he'll now look to add a big name to his resume in the toughest fight in his career.

In his last bout, Kelvin Gastelum returned after a nearly two-year hiatus following his decision loss to Jared Cannonier. He took on Chris Curtis (in the Middleweight division) at UFC 287: Sterling vs. Cejudo and put on a FOTY contender. Gastelum would put on one of the best performances of his career, and after a competitive striking affair, he would be awarded the unanimous decision victory. He'll now attempt to move back down to the Welterweight division, with his last bout coming vs. Neil Magny in 2015. He'll be looking to blemish the undefeated record of Rakhmonov to skyrocket into the top of the Welterweight division.
