Stamp Fairtex Plans on Staying Away From MMA Out Of Respect For The Lee Family
Stamp Fairtex picked up a split-decision win over ‘Supergirl’ Anna Jaroonsak at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on January 13th. Following the fight, we asked her about her future plans:
Is it more important to you to reclaim your titles in kickboxing and Muay Thai, or would you rather pursue your MMA career to prove Championship status there?
She replied:
Earlier this year, it was announced that Victoria Lee, 18, had passed away. She was the younger sister of ONE Champions Angela and Christian Lee.
Stamp already faced Angela Lee once; Lee the bout by submission in round 2. Making another run at the title would mean facing her again, and with the recent tragedy in the Lee family, Fairtex wants to give them as much space and respect as they need.
Fairtex exhibited great respect and honor in her response and has been extremely supportive of the Lee family in their time of need.
