Tim Elliot is coming off an incredible and contentious fight against Tagir Ulanbekov. He would clearly take the first round but would be controversially awarded the second round on all three judges' scorecards. Furthermore, he openly admits to cheating during the bout, grabbing his opponent's glove and throwing strikes, infuriating the corner of Ulanbekov, which included former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Despite this, Elliot is a widely entertaining fighter who's fought some of the best in the division, including former Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson, Deiveson Figueiredo, and Brandon Royval. He'll look to use his crafty style to defend his ranking and get the victory in this bout.
Allan Nascimento had a bumpy start in the UFC, debuting as a heavy underdog and losing a decision against Ulanbekov. However, since then, he's picked up two wins, including an upset over English prospect Jake Hadley and a performance of the night submission bonus against Carlos Hernandez. He would control the bout against Hernandez using his elite Jiu-Jitsu and finish the bout with a rear naked choke in the first round. Nascimento has phenomenal grappling, which he'll look to use to get the victory over Tim Elliot.
This should be an exciting matchup in the elite Flyweight division. As a member of the Verdict Community, let us know your prediction for this bout in the comments below.
