The UFC is rumored to return to Vancouver, Canada, on June 10th at a currently unannounced venue for UFC 289, per Cole Shelton.
Canada has been frequently visited, with the UFC already holding thirty-one events there, including nineteen PPV events. However, Canada last held an event for UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Gaethje on September 14th, 2019, over three years ago. The main event saw former interim Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje TKO Donald Cerrone in the first round.
Canada has seen many fighters throw down in the octagon, including notable names like Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Robbie Lawler, Amanda Nunes, and Valentina Shevchenko.
Canada has also hosted former Welterweight and Middleweight Champion Georges St-Pierre, who headlined five times in Montreal and Toronto. St-Pierre headlined UFC 129, which would have the third-highest attendance at a UFC event, with 55,724 attendees.
The fights currently announced for this card are:
Women's Flyweight: Miranda Maverick vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius
Middleweight: Eryk Anders vs. Marc-André Barriault
Canadians Jasmine Jasudavicius and Marc-André Barriault are already booked for the card, and we'll likely get some more fight announcements soon. Are you excited about the UFC's return to Canada?
