In Case You Missed it, The Mac Is Back

Seriously? Yes. Conor McGregor will face Michael Chandler in a five-round fight at UFC 303 on June 29th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as a part of International Fight Week 2024. The bout will be contested at 170 lbs.

Is it official? It's official. Dana White confirmed the fight was on after UFC 300 at the press conference, followed up by a post from the UFC social media pages displaying a graphic of McGregor and Chandler.

2
Max Holloway and Ilia Topuria Go Back and Forth

What Topuria said: Topuria said that Holloway's performance vs. Gaethje was "nothing special" and called Max a "really easy fight." He said that he did to Volkanovski in 9 minutes what Holloway couldn't do in 90 and would only fight Holloway if the BMF title was on the line.

Holloway's response: Max responded, "When I was your age, I already had a couple of title defenses, so you need to catch up." Holloway also said it wasn't very "BMF-like" to fight a man only if the title is on the line.

3
UFC Reveal Full Card for 302

The main event? The main event for UFC 302 will be Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier. Dana White confirmed this at the press conference after UFC 300.

Notable names? The co-main event will be a five-round fight between Strickland and Costa. Pyfer vs. Barriault and Anthony Hernandez vs. Roman Dolidze will also be featured on the card.

4
Tom Aspinall Confirms UFC Manchester is Happening

Details: The UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall confirmed via TikTok that he will be fighting at UFC Manchester and is just waiting on his opponent to accept the fight. While not confirmed, he will likely face Curtis Blaydes in the main event.

When? The official date for UFC Manchester has yet to be confirmed. However, UK fighters Nathaniel Wood and Arnold Allen are booked for July 20th.

5
Michael Johnson Will Not Fight Again Until 2025

Why? Alex Behunin announced via X (Twitter) that Michael Johnson is recovering from surgery and will need time off to heal. Specific details about the surgery were not revealed.

What's next? His scheduled matchup vs. Matt Frevola has been canceled, and no replacement has been given to "Steamrolla."

6
Jim Miller Reveals Violent Injuries Post UFC 300

Injuries: Jim Miller suffered two cuts on his right eye, one under and one over it. He also suffered a broken hand in the first round, alongside a broken toe.

The future? Despite losing and suffering injuries, Miller was still in high spirits. Furthermore, he said during UFC 300 fight week that he has no plans to retire, so we'll likely see him back in the octagon in late 2024/early 2025.

7
Michael Chandler Reveals More Details About New UFC Gloves

The new gloves: On Thursday, the UFC announced its new 3EIGHT and 5EIGHT gloves, which addressed several issues with the previous gloves. However, one issue that wasn't defined was a change in eye pokes.

Are eye pokes fixed? It's difficult to say, but Michael Chandler revealed that the gloves had a specific arc in the fingers that would automatically make it harder for fighters to eye poke, as well as a rigid wrist part that reduces wrists flaring upwards
