After ufc321 the ufc apparently held a meeting on how to prevent eyepokes, but a change hasn’t seemed to happen. At ufc324 paddy pimblett got eye poked on 2 occasions in the first 10 minutes in which one of them led to a knockdown. Without the eyepokes, that fight could’ve looked very different. And i know I’m a paddy glazer but he lost because 1. Gaethje was better, I won’t deny that but I think he was better because paddy was compromised due to the eye pokes. Marc Goddard said sharply to Gaethje after the first one ”I know it’s unintentional but if you do that again I have to take a point” Gaethje did it again and he got a knockdown in his favour and nothing happened. I love Justin but he almost always eyepokes his opponents, I reckon fighters like gane, jones and Justin the guys that frequently eye pokes their opponents should get a point taken immediately if they eye poke someone, and for others, 1 warning then a point.
Finishing off this post, the picture is paddy pimblett eyes 1 week after ufc325.
