I’ve seen a few people post theirs, and I’ve thought really hard about how good of a card 300 could be, so here! First I’ll have the fights, and under everything I’ll say why I wanted these some of these fights
These will be in order from Main Event to Early Prelim Opener
Main Card:
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic (or) Tom Aspinall
Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler
Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill
Ryan Spann vs Volkan Oezdemir
Diego Lopez vs Andre Fili
Prelims:
Sergei Spivak vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Joaquin Buckley vs Li Jingliang
Yan Xianon vs Tatianna Suarez
Cub Swanson vs Alex Caceres
Rodolfo Bellato vs Vitor Petrino
Elves Brenner vs Matt Frevola (or) Drew Dober
Early Prelims:
Shamill Gaziev vs Muhammad Usman
Michael Chiesa vs Zeleski Dos Santos (or) Myktybek Orolbai
Luana Santos vs Jacqueline-Cavalcanti
Rinat Fakredinov vs Nicholas Dalby
Andre Arlovski vs Chris Barnett
Explanations:
Jones vs Stipe is cool, but overhyped due to Stipes inactivity. I feel like we all can agree Aspinall is a better fight to make at this point.
Conor vs Chandler. Not on the main event?!? Yes, co main event for both of them, given one isn’t ranked and the other hasn’t been active in over a year, is very, VERY, generous. I think it’s being respectful to the other title fight: Pereira-Hill
Spann vs Oezdemir: was not hard to find myself liking this matchup, Oezdemir is always growing and has good striking, same with Spann.
Lopez vs Fili: truly a great fight imo. Lopez has all the talent in the world, while Fili is the experienced veteran, who is still improving, and has glimmers of magic in the octagon.
Buckley vs Jingliang: Buckley is rising quickly, while Li has been steadily a ‘gatekeeper’ for some time. This could be 1-sided for Buckley, but I think as long as Li is patient and picks his shots, it would be a great back-and-forth.
Yan vs Suarez: both are due for a title shot, only one can have it.
Swanson vs Caceres: Swanson, as loved as he is, kinda made it a problem when he won his last decision so controversially, now he has to fight up, and I think Caceres would be a good clash of styles. Cub could also retire in front of his biggest crowd, win or lose. (He’s getting old ☹️)
Bellato vs Petrino: a good fight with both fighters on the gas, going forward, and both undefeated in the UFC.
Brenner vs Frevola/Dober: stole this idea from that one guy who posted his recent 300 card proposals lol, seemed like a great fight.
Gaziev vs Usman: Usman is improving, but I would assume this would be another stepping stone for Gaziev, and a fraud check for Usman.
Chiesa vs Zeleski/Orolbai: I don’t understand how Michael chiesa is still ranked. There are way more deserving, skillful, and youthful fighters with a path ahead of them. I’m sorry Chiesa, but I think these 2, including the Rinat-Dalby fight, are all more deserving of a top 15 placement.
Dalby vs Rinat: both can go to war, both do go to war every fight. After both of their last fights, I can see another FOTN here.
Barnett vs Arlovski: Chris Barnett, from the second his walkout starts, lights up an arena, it would be a great opener to the show, while Arlovski is the highly touted veteran with his biggest crowd in front of him. I’d guess Arlovski could also retire after this fight, but he’s made it this far! Why stop?!
