The MMA World has lost an incredible talent.

Per his Instagram, Damir Ismagulov has retired from sports.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances and health issues, I have to end my sports career. Thanks to all those who were by my side, regardless of the outcome of the battles, who were sincerely sick and worried. It was an interesting journey, a moment to remember. Gave everyone a hug.

It is unknown the exact reasons for his retirement, but it is of note that Ismagulov suffers from Tourette’s syndrome and has battled it throughout his career.

Ismagulov retired with a record of 24-2 and was ranked #12 in the UFC Lightweight division. His notable wins include Guram Kutateladze, Joel Alvarez, Rafael Alves, and Thiago Moises.

Ismagulov was on a 19-fight win streak before his last fight. He was the pride of Kazakhstan in the UFC.
