Overall it was a decent event… Mike Malott got a good win over the beloved, and as my wife calls him, “Gilby Burns” The judging was lackluster in a way, but the refereeing is getting better each card! Jason Herzog is leading the way by holding fighters accountable by showing there is consequences for fouling your opponent in the fight! Eye pokes, groin shots, and fence grabbing are the 3 leading fouls in MMA. Deducting point(s) and/or disqualification are the only options to hold fighters accountable for their weapons! MMA referees at the highest level

*continued generally do not want to insert themselves in the fights. That’s why there is a fighter referee meeting before the event starts! The fence grabs (5)total in the Croden fight was egregious! Not a single point deduction and only a break in the action once to address the issue! This can not happen at this level, and I’m sure his colleagues will address this with him directly… Moreover, the commission should make sure he is aware of the 5 fence grabs that took place in this fight. To miss these is to maybe shed light that some are not quite ready for the highest level! These fighters careers and lively hoods are on the line! They must be better period! The event was a success for many young up and coming talent, and Mike Malott will enter the top 15! The dude is a good fighter, but I must say he has the charisma of a basketball! Looking forward to Algo and Zalal at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas!
