What do you think the Olympics are other than propaganda to display superiority over another country? This has been used by the Soviets, and now China. The economy isn’t awesome rn, but it’s also not awesome anywhere in the world. I don’t like Trump, but yeah propaganda is part of politics and sports is an easy watchable medium making it perfect for propaganda.
