UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway 3 was expected to headline the card, but Holloway was forced out due to injury. What replaced it was a matchup so fueled with hatred that a title didn’t need to be on the line. Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal had a nasty best-friends-turned-bitter-rivals storyline, with the two attempting to settle the score in the Octagon. Jorge Masvidal would later be charged and arrested for assaulting Covington in Miami later in the year.
