Following three years away from the sport, Jon Jones returned over 40 lbs heavier in a new weight class to take on Ciryl Gane, whose only loss in the UFC at that point was a controversial decision defeat to Francis Ngannou. Alexa Grasso also looked to cause a major upset against the long-reigning Valentina Shevchenko, who was riding an eight-fight winning streak.
