The event introduced the UFC’s first Superfight title, with Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock fighting to a 36-minute draw, still the longest bout in UFC history. That shift led Rorion Gracie, the UFC Co-Creator, to sell WOW Promotions and step away, while it became Royce Gracie’s final UFC fight for more than a decade until his return at UFC 60.
