UFC 315 was headlined by welterweights Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena. Muhammad was meant to face Shavkat Rakhmonov, but the fight was not booked after Rakhmonov suffered an injury. Della Maddalena, who had been booked to fight Leon Edwards in London in March, was elevated to the title fight.
