No chance. Most NFL players play 17-20 games from the regular season to the playoffs. I saw a stat online that a single game is equivalent to being in two car crashes which blew my mind. They’re significantly more active than MMA fighters who may have 2-3 fights per year. If you’re not sparring like a maniac and make sure your recovery is top notch there’s not much to worry about at a professional level

i doubt it, i think boxing is gonna get more of an enquiry as it has been around at a high level for longer than the ufc, that being said, justin gaethje exists

Hard to say, imo the UFC is the only head trauma prone sport that has done all they can on their end to reduce risks. But then again BJ Penn is cause for concern. I’d say the only thing id like to see added is something ive wanted for a long time because of Stephan Bonnar and Rumble, lifetime healthcare for fighters who spend a significant portion of their career in the UFC. The UFC could benefit from this too by adding a clause that only allows access if the fighters don’t sign with another promotion once leaving the UFC.

Dana spends a lot of his own money and UFC money on brain health and CTE research. One of the few things I admire him for, the NFL and WWE’s response to CTE is pretending it’s not real.
