'Major' types of content and their creators on Verdict MMA
Verdict's Hall of Fame: Founder: Jays2006 Status: Active Current Organisator: MacarenaMMA Previous Organisator: Jays2006 The Hall of Fame, as the name suggests, is a prestigious “club” of individuals who have contributed the most to the development of the app in one way or another. In my opinion, it represents one of the most important traditional forms of "content" within the community. To reach this point, you have to earn it - partly through creating impactful content, but also through exceptional knowledge of MMA and the UFC world. It was a brilliant idea by Jay to introduce this concept. Jay himself is one of the GOATs of the app. The Verdict Hall of Fame currently has 11 members, and in two days, a 12th member will be added. Voting takes place every two months. Big thanks to MacarenaMMA for keeping this active. Immortal Tournament: Founders: Immortal and ALEKSA7X (Me) Status: Active Current Organisator: TexMex_Alex Previous Organisators: ALEKSA7X, Jays2006, MacarenaMMA(?) The Immortal Tournament is a competition where participants face off against each other to see who can earn more XP in a given round. XP is gained by predicting the fights from that week’s event. The number of rounds depends on how many participants there are - the more competitors - the more rounds the tournament will have. The maximum number of participants is 32. The format is single elimination, meaning that once you lose, you are out, and the tournament winner finishes with no losses. We once tried a double elimination format, but it didn’t work out, since the lower bracket (losers’ bracket) would last much longer than the upper bracket (winners’ bracket). The Immortal Tournament was created around September 2024, when Immortal challenged someone to a 1v1. Shortly after, I challenged someone else, and that’s when the idea came to me... the winner of one matchup should face the winner of the other. From there, we quickly came to the conclusion; Why not expand it and include even more competitors? Thanks to TexMex_Alex for keeping it active! Tier Lists and Actually Funny, Genuinely Charismatic Video Memes: Founder: BJPennLover Status: Abandoned due to inactivity of BJPennLover This category never really had a defined host or organizer, since everyone was free to post videos and memes. However, one name stands above all, and should be considered the GOAT of it. Many tried to follow in his footsteps, but no one even came close. BJPennLover’s tier lists and video memes were something truly unique - content no one else was making before him. Some of it wasn’t even MMA-related, but it didn’t matter. He won people over with unmatched humor and natural charisma, so no one ever complained. There’s no real way to fully describe it... you simply had to be there to experience the true magic of it. We miss your content, BJPennLover. I miss it. I hope you’re doing well in your private life and that you’re focused on good things. Fights Breakdowns: Founder: TairaSZN Status: Abandoned due to inactivity of TairaSZN Almost the same can be said about this masterpiece as with BJPennLover’s work. TairaSZN is someone with S+ level, extraordinary MMA knowledge, and a true master of his craft. His fight breakdowns were incredibly detailed, to the point where even I, as a hardcore MMA fan, learned small nuances and details that only someone like Nate could pick up on. These weren’t just simple, surface level breakdowns -they felt like stories of their own. There isn’t much more to say in terms of the concept itself... it’s simple in idea, but extremely difficult to execute at such a high level. And what Taira did with it set the standard incredibly high. I truly hope I get to see this kind of content from him again in the future. Verdict’s Finest: Founder: ALEKSA7X (myself) Status: Abandoned Verdict’s Finest used to be a thing back in the day. It was based on my personal evaluation of users: their content, takes, overall knowledge, and how much I enjoyed interacting with them. It also partially reflected the current Karma leaderboard. The format included a champion and 15 ranked members, with the best at #1 and the lowest at #15. There was no fixed schedule for when it would be posted - sometimes it was five days apart, sometimes two weeks, sometimes even a month. It all depended on the activity of the forum and when I felt it was the right time. The rankings were determined based on the period between updates - everything that happened between the previous list and the new one directly influenced the placements. FTMs and Fantasy Cards: Founder: ALEKSA7X (myself) Status: Active (Primarily through me, but also MacarenaMMA and TheRightHook) FTMs (Fights to Make) are posts I started doing a long time ago after each event. Most of the time, I would post them on Sundays, right after the fights. Occasionally, MacarenaMMA contributes as well. Fantasy Cards are another format I introduced. The first one (if I remember correctly) was my prediction of what UFC 300 might look like, posted around December 2023. Fantasy Cards are usually created by me, and sometimes by MacarenaMMA and TheRightHook. That said, they are not meant to replace one another or represent a shared project. Everyone posts their own unique versions. Personally, I like to build cards around more exotic locations, places with great crowd potential, or countries or US states the UFC hasn’t visited in a long time but still has fighters representing them. Odds Breakdowns: Founder: DougLasVegas Status: Active For odds breakdowns, you need not only strong MMA knowledge, but also the awareness to recognize which outcomes offer the best value - balancing how likely something is to happen with the potential payout. This used to be a regular feature in the app’s Articles section. It’s a relatively simple concept, but a very effective and valuable form of content when done right. Literally anything that is specific theme: Creator: TheRightHook Status: Active whenever he is active lmao It can’t be directly compared or placed in the same category as the ones above, but TheRightHook is a user who creates extremely interesting types of posts. Their topics can vary widely, so there isn’t a single specific section that defines them. (Classic example, his today's post)
