Dumont is long, tall, and confident. She starts walking Perez back from the jump. Perez is tough and can probably take these shots to close the distance. Dumont is marching forward stinging Perez with strait shots forcing her to hesitate coming forward. Perez times a nice takedown off of one of Dumonts kicks and lands in quarter guard. Perez controls well and clearly has a strength advantage. Perez looks to get off some damage to end the round. Perez looks much more confident and throws some good strikes before pushing forward and getting the clinch. The grinds Dumont up against the fence trying to get takedown but then Dumont popped off a nice hip throw. Perez almost wizards out but Dumont gets on top into guard. Perez is able to scramble up when Dumont tried to throw some ground strikes. They both respect each other quite a bit know now and both are more hesitant. When Dumont is able to stay on the front foot and offensive she is affective and controls the fight. But Perez hold danger with powerful strikes and a possibly takedown. I’m not seeing enough kicks from Dumont. Perez isn’t committing enough. One of the girls needs to really take this over. Perez has also seemingly abandoned the takedown or clinch. She’s content to try and land a big heavy shot. Dumont is doing the right things to get a decision. She’s staying behind her jab, always walking forward, staying defensively sound, and putting together some nice combinations. Finally after Dumont has put some distance between her and Perez with her activity and accuracy. Perez shoots and takedown and uses it to clinch Dumont against the fence. Perez wants the takedown but Dumont is savvy to it. Perez really only tries a body lock drag down and doesn’t give enough variety to really trouble Dumont. They break and trade a bit to end the Fight. Pretty close fight, Dumont possibly won every round but they were close and could’ve done Perez. I think Dumont won but somehow the judges give it unanimous to Perez. Very weird.
