## Noche UFC: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 Preview



The UFC is back in the T-Mobile Arena for a title rematch between former Women's Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko and the newly crowned queen Alexa Grasso. Grasso captured the title in a fourth-round upset victory when she faced Shevchenko earlier this year and brought a championship belt back to Mexico.    

This event will take place on Mexican Independence Day to celebrate the incredible athletes of the El Tri, such as Fernando Padilla, Daniel Zellhuber, Tracy Cortez, Lupita Godinez, Raúl Rosas Jr., and, of course, Alexa Grasso.   

Let us look at each fight as it appears on the VerdictMMA card.    




## Fernando Padilla vs. Kyle Nelson

Two Featherweight hopefuls go head-to-head to open the main card in a classic veteran vs. prospect matchup. Both men are coming off a big win in their previous outings, with Fernando Padilla's being a first-round knockout of Julian Erosa and Kyle Nelson getting the nod from all three judges when he faced Dana White's Contender Series veteran Blake Bilder.    

Kyle Nelson is currently 2-4-1 in the UFC with a professional record of 14-5-1 and very well could be competing to keep a UFC contract here. Although slightly excusable, as he has faced some of the best Featherweights, such as Jai Herbert, Billy Quarantillo, and Diego Ferreira, he still desperately needs a big win here to stay in the UFC.   

Fernando Padilla is easily one of the best new prospects hailing from Mexico. Padilla is a well-rounded fighter who can get it done anywhere, be it submission, knockout, or dominant decision; Padilla is more than capable.    

This fight should be exciting, and a finish is very likely, as only 13 of their combined 39 fights have gone to a decision.    

## Daniel Zellhuber vs. Christos Giagos

Daniel Zellhuber is a Dana White's Contender Series veteran who was awarded his contract after an exciting back-and-forth win over Lucas Almeida in 2021. In Zellhuber's UFC debut, he fell short on the judges score cards and received his first career loss against Trey Ogden. Zellhuber would return with an impressive win over fan-favorite Lando Vanatta to put himself back in the win column. Currently 1-1 in the promotion, Zellhuber is eager to score his first UFC finish and climb his way to a Lightweight title.    

Although relatively unknown to the masses, Christos Giagos has fought the who's who of Lightweights in MMA. In Giagos' UFC debut, he fought Gilbert Burns and lost by submission, which he followed up by going 1-1 and ultimately being let go from the promotion. After an exciting 6 fights on the regional scene, he was back, and this time, against Charles Oliveira. These two names are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the people he's faced: Thiago Moisés, Arman Tsarukyan, Drakkar Klose, Damir Hadžović, Josh Emmett, and Chris Wade, to name a few.    

Giagos is no stranger to a knockout or submission and is as well-rounded as they come. Giagos has a record of 20-10 (6-7 UFC) and will look to halt the hype train of the 13-1 Mexican when they meet in the Octagon.   

With another classic veteran vs. prospect matchup on our hands, this is a pivotal moment for both men involved.    

## Raúl Rosas Jr. vs Terrence Mitchell

Raúl Rosas Jr. blasted onto the scene at 17 years old with a dominant win on Dana White's Contender Series, showcasing a mixed arsenal of flashy strikes and slick grappling. However, despite looking unstoppable in his first 7 professional fights, he received his first career loss earlier this year when he faced Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287. Rosas Jr. is an excellent jiujitsu practitioner, finishing 5 of his 7 wins by submission.    

Terrence Mitchell is a dominant finisher who has only seen one decision in his 14-year career. Of his 14 wins, 12 are in the first round, with a near-even split of knockouts and submissions. Mitchell made his UFC debut at UFC 290 when he faced South African standout Cameron Saaimon, with Saaimon ultimately getting the KO victory and ending Mitchell's 11-fight finish streak.    

Will Mitchell earn his first UFC win and end the hype of Rosas Jr. once and for all, or will Rosas Jr. get back in the win column and back on track to be the youngest champion ever?

Two super exciting Welterweights fill the co-main event spot for this weekend's UFC Fight Night. Kevin Holland is an anywhere, anyone, any time sort of fighter who is known for his flashy knockouts and big mouth. However, Jack Della Maddalena is possibly the most impressive prospect the promotion has right now.    

Della Maddalena burst onto the scene after a striking masterclass he dished out on Dana White's Contender Series to secure himself a contract. Della Maddalena was looking unstoppable against everyone he faced; that was, however, until he fought UFC newcomer Bassil Hafez. Della Madalena had been scheduled to face Sean Brady, who subsequently pulled out due to injury, and was instead scheduled to face Josiah Harrell after Harrell had gone viral with a clip of him taking his opponent down through the cage door; however, Harrell did not pass his pre-fight medicals, and Bassil Hafez was given the shot with less than 24 hours notice. Della Madalena struggled with the new matchup, being someone utterly different from who he had trained for, but still narrowly edged the split decision to keep his win streak alive. 
Della Madalena has only been to 2 decisions of his 17-fight career and is exceptionally well-rounded.   

Kevin Holland made his short-notice debut against Thiago Santos in 2018, and since then, he has fought a ridiculous 19 times. When the pandemic came around, Holland was the one fighter who truly seized the opportunity in front of him by using the UFC Apex as a place to make himself a household name among MMA fans. Holland fought 5 times in 2020 and won every one, earning him the record for most wins in a calendar year. Not only has Holland fought a lot, but he has also fought some of the best: Ronaldo Souza, Joaquin Buckley, Derek Brunson, Marvin Vettori, Khamzat Chimaev, Stephen Thompson, Santiago Ponzinibbio, and Michael Chiesa.    

Holland has an insane resume for someone who has only been a pro since 2015, with 35 total fights and 21 finishes.    

Della Madalena has a huge test ahead of him in Kevin Holland, and if he gets through this, he will solidify himself as a top-level UFC fighter.

The rematch is on! These ladies are officially set to run it back after Alexa Grasso snatched the title from Valentina Shevchenko in a huge upset victory earlier in the year. Grasso entered the bout as a +750 underdog and pulled off the unthinkable with a round 4 submission over the dominant champion.    


Shevchenko has ruled the Women's Flyweight division since it was established in 2018, racking up a 9-fight win streak with 4 knockouts, 1 submission, and 4 decisions. Shevchenko secured herself as one of the greatest female fighters ever after the legendary title run she had.   

Alexa Grasson seemingly came out of nowhere in 2017 and began her UFC career a little spotty; however, she scrapped together a nice 4-fight win streak to earn a shot at the title and proved all the doubters wrong with an exceptional finish to become a UFC champion.    

Grasso's professional record is 16-3 (8-3 UFC), and Shevchenko's is 23-4 (12-3 UFC).     

Will Shevchenko regain the title and clarify that she just had an off night, or will Grasso defend and prove she is where she belongs?

A top-15 matchup in the Lightweight division has just been confirmed, per David Van Auken. Grant Dawson will face Bobby Green as the headliner for UFC Fight Night 229 on October 7th inside the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada.

**This five-round main event occurs in the Lightweight (155 lbs) division.**

Grant Dawson holds a professional record of 20-1-1 (8-0-1 UFC) and has notable wins over Damir Ismagulov, Mark Madsen, and Jared Gordon. He is ranked #10 in the Lightweight division.

Bobby Green is currently unranked in the Lightweight division and holds a professional record of 30-14-1-1NC (11-9-1-1NC UFC). He has noteworthy wins over Tony Ferguson, Al Iaquinta, and James Krause.

**Official odds have yet to be released.**

Grant Dawson is the dark horse of the Lightweight division. He's currently undefeated inside the UFC with five finishes and is coming off the biggest win of his career. At UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs. Magomedov, Dawson would serve as the co-headliner against Damir Ismagulov and would put on a grappling clinic against the Kazak, securing the victory via a dominant unanimous decision. He now goes for his ninth octagon victory in his first main event inside the promotion.

Bobby Green is also coming off one of the most significant wins of his career. On the main card of UFC 291, Green would go toe-to-toe with fan favorite Tony Ferguson and would become the second man to submit Ferguson in the UFC, only achieved once prior by Nate Diaz. Green was comfortably in control the entire bout before securing a buzzer-beater submission with six seconds left in the round. Now, he'll look to get his first UFC victory in a main event slot.

Grant Dawson and Bobby Green Square Off on October 7th Headliner

A top-15 matchup has just been announced. Matt Schnell will face Steve Erceg at UFC 295 inside the MSG Arena in New York, New York, per Marcel Dorff.

**This fight takes place in the Flyweight (125 lbs) division.**

Matt Schnell holds a professional record of 16-7 (7-5 UFC) and is ranked #8 in the Flyweight division. He holds credible wins over Sumudaerji, Tyson Nam, and Louis Smolka.

Steve Erceg holds a professional record of 10-1 (1-0 UFC) and is ranked #14 in the Flyweight division. He holds notable wins over David Dvořák, Shannon Ross, and Soichiro Hirai.

Matt Schnell holds the reputation as one of the most entertaining fighters in the Flyweight division. Despite coming off a KO loss to Matheus Nicolau, Schnell is 6-3 in his previous bouts and is most known for his fight of the year and comeback of the year contender fight against Sumudaerji. Schnell would rally through an onslaught of blows and secure a triangle choke in the second round, his most significant win to date. He also won Fight of The Night honors in his bout before that against Brandon Royval at UFC 274. Schnell will be looking to secure the victory in this matchup, hoping to make a top-10 fight for himself next.

Steve Erceg is coming off one of the year's most impressive debuts. He'd face David Dvořák on the prelims of UFC 289, and on the biggest stage of his career, Erceg didn't disappoint. After a dominant three rounds, he secured a unanimous decision and a rare decision performance of the night bonus, showing just how impressive his debut was. Now firmly in the rankings, Erceg will be looking to climb into the top 10 with a win over the always-tough Schnell.

The UFC heads down under for pay-per-view action from the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, this weekend, headlined by Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya -588 defending his title against Sean Strickland +480. I broke down every fight on the card and gave my picks and bets, so let's get into it.

## Israel Adesanya -588 vs. Sean Strickland +480

Our main event is a Middleweight title fight that should feature fast-paced action for as long as it lasts. Israel Adesanya is one of the best strikers in the sport, with phenomenal timing and a wide variety of kicks in his arsenal; he is coming off his spectacular knockout over Alex Pereira in their rematch earlier this year. Sean Strickland is a good pressure fighter with solid boxing behind a great jab; his cardio is also very good, with him being able to set a hard pace for five rounds, as he has shown against fighters like Jared Cannonier.

This is a good matchup for Adesanya, which is why he is such a large favorite; I see him picking Strickland apart for a decision win. 

Pick: Adesanya O/U: Over 4.5 -109

## Tai Tuivasa +180 vs. Alexander Volkov -208

A hometown hero gets the co-main spotlight here in this Heavyweight brawl. Tai Tuivasa is a brawler in every sense of the term; he has surprisingly fast hands, and his chin is rock solid, making him a must-watch anytime he fights. Alexander Volkov is a tall kickboxer who has competed at the top of the division for a long time, showing good hands and the ability to keep range.

I'm taking Tuivasa at these odds, as he has the power and durability to get the win at any point against an aging Volkov. 

Pick: Tuivasa O/U: Under 1.5 -115*

## Manel Kape -370 vs. Felipe dos Santos +310

Short notice replacement steps in to keep a Flyweight star on the card. Manel Kape has made a name for himself with a flashy style and big power for the division; his volume is low at times, but his game is very well-rounded. Felipe dos Santos steps in an undefeated prospect out of the famous Chute Boxe gym that features fighters like Charles Oliveira, and he fights precisely how you would expect a fighter out of that gym to fight, crazy pace and pressure all fight long.

Kape should win this one, as he has proven he is a top contender, and dos Santos has some work to do on his game. 

Pick: Kape O/U: Under 2.5 -185

## Justin Tafa -213 vs. Austen Lane +185

A Heavyweight matchup cut short the first time around gets another try here. Justin Tafa is a hard-hitting kickboxer who trusts his chin; he throws hard kicks that have knocked opponents out through the guard. Austen Lane has little MMA experience, but he is a decent athlete; his durability hasn't been great, with his losses all being first-round knockouts.

I had Tafa by knockout in the first matchup, and my opinion is largely unchanged with him now fighting at home.

Pick: Tafa O/U: Under 1.5 -222

## Tyson Pedro -103 vs. Anton Turkalj -110

Intriguing matchup here at Light Heavyweight. Tyson Pedro looks to bounce back after a tough showing against Modestas Bukauskas; he is very dangerous in round one but has no wins outside that, which is concerning. Anton Turkalj has been fun to watch; if nothing else, he is durable and has decent grappling, although his striking is poor, particularly on defense.

I'll take Pedro here as I give him the advantage wherever this fight goes early, and he should be able to get an early finish or a decision if his cardio holds up.

Pick: Pedro O/U: Under 2.5 -213

## Carlos Ulberg -263 vs. Da Un Jung +230

Light Heavyweight kickboxers clash here in this high-stakes matchup. Carlos Ulberg is a very powerful kickboxer who has been dominant of late with several quick knockouts over durable opponents. Da Un Jung is a big and powerful kickboxer; he has lost his last two, with him having been a significant favorite in his last one against Devin Clark, where he was outpaced.

I've backed Ulberg at some steep prices before, and I'll pick him again here as I see him getting a knockout early in this one.

Pick: Ulberg O/U: Under 1.5 -108

## Jack Jenkins -204 vs. Chepe Mariscal +180

It's a fun battle here at Featherweight featuring one of several Australian fighters on the card. Jack Jenkins has shown some good things in his UFC run with his now infamous leg kicks and a decent offensive wrestling game; others can hold him down when wrestled, as was shown against Jamall Emmers late in his last fight. Chepe Mariscal returns to his proper weight class after debuting at Lightweight against Trevor Peek in an epic fight where he dominated the larger man.

I'll lean with Mariscal here as this fight is closer than the odds indicate, with Mariscal having several possible paths to victory.

Pick: Mariscal O/U: Over 2.5 -204

## Jamie Mullarkey -250 vs. John Makdessi +220

Veteran Lightweight strikers go at it here. Jamie Mullarkey is a good kickboxer with lots of movement and high volume, although I don't trust his durability with him being knocked out several times. John Makdessi is a powerful and durable striker, although he can sometimes be low-volume, waiting for his opponent to give him an opportunity rather than pressing for one.

I'm picking Mullarkey, but at this price, with his durability concerns, this fight will be a pass from me, betting-wise. 

Pick: Mullarkey O/U: Over 2.5 -222

## Nasrat Haqparast -435 vs. Landon Quinones +360

This is a fun clash of Lightweights who like to put on a show. Nasrat Haqparast is a durable striker with nice hands and lots of forward pressure. Landon Quinones comes in off The Ultimate Fighter, where he looked bad on the show, losing early to Jason Knight in an early submission, but he is a dangerous striker when he gets going.

I'll pick Haqparast here as he is much more proven at this level, but these odds are too wide to do much with, as Quinones will be able to show his striking here. 

Pick: Haqparast O/U: Over 2.5 -143

## Blood Diamond +250 vs. Charlie Radtke -294

Interesting clash at Welterweight here early on the card. Blood Diamond has had a tough start to his UFC run; he is a dangerous kickboxer known for training with Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Charlie Radtke is a decent fighter with a well-rounded game, making his debut here, and I have questions about his durability, with him having been finished several times already in his career.

I'll go with Blood Diamond at this price, as he has power, and I think he can defend the takedowns enough to make this fight interesting. 

Pick: Diamond O/U: Under 2.5 -189

## Shane Young -169 vs. Gabriel Miranda +149

Two Featherweights looking for a big win, go at it here. Shane Young enters this looking to break a three-fight skid; he is a durable striker. Gabriel Miranda is a solid submission grappler who was given a nightmare matchup in his debut against Benoit Saint-Denis; even before that matchup, his striking has yet to look good to me.

I've got Young here as if he can avoid getting submitted, he should out-strike Miranda. 

Pick: Young O/U: Over 1.5 -196

## Kevin Jousset -147 vs. Kiefer Crosbie +130

It's a good battle here to kick things off between debuting Welterweights. Kevon Jousset is a tough kickboxer with a well-rounded offensive attack. Kiefer Crosbie is a tough brawler with solid experience outside of the UFC; he goes hard for the finish and is not afraid to get hit.

I like Jousset here as he should be able to keep a higher pace, and I give him the durability edge. 

Pick: Jousset O/U: Over 2.5 -109

UFC 293 Predictions

Season seven of Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) is well underway, with plenty of new talent signing with the UFC and more to come. With the alums of the series growing stronger as the years go by, now is the perfect time to look at the DWCS fighters who have the most wins in the UFC.

## 7: Ricky Simon (8 Wins, 3 Finishes)

Our first alum is the #12 ranked Bantamweight Ricky Simon. Simon debuted in 2018 in a chaotic fight against Merab Dvalishvili, winning with a buzzer-beater guillotine choke in the final second of the third round. Since then, he's racked up victories against highly rated prospects and divisional veterans, such as Jack Shore and Raphael Assunção. Despite losing his last bout to Song Yadong, Simon is entering the prime years of his career and will be looking to break into the top 10 of the division in his next matchup, which is currently unconfirmed.

## 6: Maycee Barber (8 wins, 4 finishes)

Our next entry with equal wins but an extra finish goes to "The Future" Maycee Barber. After an impressive display on the contender series, it was a no-brainer she'd be signed to the UFC, and she immediately started to live up to her nickname in the beginning, securing three TKO victories over Hannah Cifers, JJ Aldrich and Gillian Robertson. However, she'd hit a roadblock in her next few bouts, dropping decision losses to Roxanne Modafferi and Alexa Grasso. Fans weren't convinced in her next bout, where she was awarded an incredibly controversial split-decision win over Miranda Maverick. However, she's now riding an impressive five-fight win streak and looks to add more names to her resume as she climbs the rankings.

## 5: Grant Dawson (8 wins, 5 finishes)

The final tied entry at the fifth spot goes to Grant "KGD" Dawson. Many fans have declared Dawson the dark horse of the Lightweight division, and after going 8-0-1 in the UFC with victories over Mark Madsen and Damir Ismagulov, it's clear to see why. The incredibly underrated grappler has been silently climbing his way into the rankings since his debut in 2019, where he beat Julian Erosa by unanimous decision. However, after struggling with making weight in the Featherweight division, Dawson would move up to Lightweight, where he is currently undefeated. Now ranked at #10 in the Lightweight rankings, a big matchup is undoubtedly on the horizon for Dawson.

## 4: Dan Ige (9 Wins, 4 Finishes)

One of the most exciting Featherweights around also holds the fourth-place spot on this list. Dan "50k" Ige debuted in 2018, which he lost via unanimous decision. However, the loss wouldn't deter Ige, and he went on a six-fight win streak, adding names like Edson Barboza and Mirsad Bektić to his resume. Since Ige entered the rankings and took a step up in competition, "50k" has dropped some decisions to the likes of Movsar Evloev and Calvin Kattar but has always stayed active and is now riding a two-fight win streak. His next scheduled bout is against Bryce Mitchell, where he'll look to get his tenth victory inside the UFC octagon.

## 3: Sean O'Malley (9 Wins, 6 Finishes)

The current Bantamweight Champion and UFC superstar Sean O'Malley has enjoyed a successful stay in the UFC, dropping just one loss to Marlon Vera across his entire career. After making a successful debut in 2017 and securing another win in 2018, O'Malley would be hit with a myriad of suspensions and, after going through hip surgery, wouldn't return until 2020. Since his return, O'Malley has terrorized the division, dominating opponents like Kris Moutinho and Raulian Paiva before competing against Former Champion Petr Yan and winning against him. His run to the title was capped off in August 2023, where he TKOed Aljamain Sterling in the second round to capture the throne, as fans eagerly await for his next matchup to be announced.

## 2: Brendan Allen (10 Wins, 7 Finishes)

Middleweight veteran Brendan Allen hasn't enjoyed the popularity of some of the other fighters on this list, but that doesn't stop him from being an absolute killer in the Middleweight division. Allen made his debut in 2019, winning via submission against Kevin Holland. He's only dropped two losses throughout his UFC career and has a stacked resume, including Punahele Soriano, André Muniz, and Bruno Silva. Allen is an exceptionally active fighter who averages three bouts per year and already has his next fight booked against Paul Craig despite just fighting in July.

## 1: Kevin Holland (12 Wins, 9 Finishes)

The funny story with Kevin Holland is that he didn't even receive a contract from his DWCS bout, as Dana White said he was too cocky. But after a last-minute replacement was needed for Light-Heavyweight contender Thiago Santos, White wanted to see if Holland, who would need to move up a weight class, would take the fight. Holland did, and now, he's got twelve victories inside the octagon, including nine finishes, seven performance bonuses, a knockout of the year contender in 2020, and the record for most bouts in a calendar year. Kevin Holland remains one of the most active fighters in the UFC, averaging 3-4 fights per year. With a bout against Jack Della Maddalena coming up in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2, Holland will be looking to separate his lead further and continue to add more names to his stacked resume.

Dana White's Contender Series Alums With The Most UFC Wins

The UFC heads to Paris, France, this weekend and brings a load of hometown talent, including the headlining matchup at Heavyweight with French standout Ciryl Gane -182 taking on Serghei Spivac +140. I went over the entire card and gave my picks and best bets, so let's get into it.

## Ciryl Gane -182 vs. Serghei Spivac +140

A Heavyweight clash of styles goes down in our main event. Ciryl Gane is one of the best strikers we have ever seen in the Heavyweight division with his incredible movement and timing with a diverse attack, his weak point has been obvious, as he has significantly struggled when forced to wrestle. Serghei Spivac is a fantastic wrestler who has a great ability to chain his takedowns together, although his striking and cardio are not great.  

It is hard to trust Gane as a favorite against a wrestler, but he should take this one as he has a massive speed and striking edge.

Pick: Gane O/U: Under 2.5 

## Manon Fiorot -189 vs. Rose Namajunas +146

Intriguing matchup at Flyweight that should have a significant impact on the title picture. Manon Fiorot is a strong kickboxer who has passed every test she has been given, having faced several former title challengers and looking a step ahead. Rose Namajunas returns here up a weight class, and she has produced some of the most spectacular performances in UFC history; however, she is also coming off possibly the least spectacular fight ever against Carla Esparza, where she looked very hesitant to engage.

I have been very high on Fiorot her entire career, and I will trust her again here as her striking matches up well, and she can defend any grappling from Namajunas.

Pick: Fiorot O/U: Over 2.5 

## Benoit Saint-Denis -169 vs. Thiago Moises +131

This is a Lightweight matchup that should feature very fun grappling exchanges. Benoit Saint-Denis burst onto the scene with a huge underdog win over Ismael Bonfim, where he showed his extremely high-level grappling game; he is also as tough as they come as he displayed in his debut at Welterweight against Elizeu Zaleski. Thiago Moises is a great submission grappler who has only lost to top-level competition; he can get off to slow starts at times, which is concerning.

This fight is very interesting as the momentum is on the side of Saint-Denis, which is why he is the favorite, but this is a significant shift in how he is viewed after being an underdog against a less proven fighter his last time out. With that, I'll pick Moises at this price as he can counter the pressure game of Saint-Denis with his own well-rounded game.  

Pick: Moises O/U: Over 2.5 

## Volkan Oezdemir -189 vs. Bogdan Guskov +145

Light Heavyweight firefight between an established veteran and a fresh newcomer. Volkan Oezdemir has competed at the top of the division for a long time, although he has noticeably slowed since the days when he was knocking out many feared opponents in round one. Bogdan Guskov is an aggressive big puncher, although his level of competition leaves many questions about his ability to compete at the highest level.

I've got Oezdemir to get the knockout here, as he is on a much higher level than Guskov and will show it very early in this one. 

Pick: Oezdemir O/U: Under 1.5 

## William Gomis -233 vs. Yanis Ghemmouri +180

One of several matchup switches on the card here at Featherweight. William Gomis is a tall kickboxer who has won both his UFC fights but not without some struggles, having been nearly submitted several times. Yanis Ghemmouri takes this change of opponents here with a shift in divisions as well, now fighting a weight class higher than he was initially scheduled; he is a well-rounded finisher with multiple submissions and knockouts on his resume. 

I would rather have Ghemmouri at this price as even though he is giving up the size, I am not very sold on Gomis. 

Pick: Ghemmouri O/U: Over 2.5 

## Morgan Charriere -345 vs. Manolo Zecchini +250

Featherweight clash here that sees the biggest favorite on the main card. Morgan Charriere comes into this fight out of Cage Warriors, having fought quality competition during his run there, showing good finishing ability with four knockouts in the promotion. Manolo Zecchini steps in here off back-to-back knockout wins; most of his wins are by knockout, although he has yet to face very impressive competition, having lost when facing the two best fighters on his record. 

I like Charriere here as he has shown much more against higher-quality opposition, making me feel this high price on him is justified. 

Pick: Charriere O/U: Under 2.5 

## Taylor Lapilus -169 vs. Caolan Loughran +132

European Bantamweights matchup here, with the Frenchman being favored on the odds. Taylor Lapilus returns to the UFC here, and he is a solid kickboxer with a decent record against solid competition. Caolan Loughran comes in an undefeated prospect from Cage Warriors with a very aggressive style. 

I'll pick Lapilus here as his experience will help him survive the attack of Loughran and take control.

Pick: Lapilus O/U: Under 2.5 

## Ange Loosa -179 vs. Rhys McKee +146

Welterweight matchup here of two veterans. Ange Loosa has a well-rounded game, and many may remember him for nearly finishing Jack Della Maddalena on Dana White's Contender Series. Rhys McKee returns to the UFC after getting several finishes; he had a tough run in the UFC but was given brutal competition, like having to face Khamzat Chimaev in his debut; he is a tall striker with a good pace.

I've got Loosa here as he has never been finished, and McKee has never won a decision, giving me the feeling that no matter how this fight plays out, Loosa will come out on top. He will likely find a knockout finish with his explosive striking, and I don't trust McKee's defense.

Pick: Loosa O/U: Under 2.5

## Nora Cornolle -104 vs. Joselyne Edwards -122

Tested veteran takes on an exciting debutant here at Bantamweight. Nora Cornolle makes her debut, having finished all of her pro wins. Joselyne Edwards is on a quiet three-fight win streak using her solid grappling defense and kickboxing, although her fights are relatively low volume. 

I'll lean with Edwards here as she has a higher level of experience, and I am not sold on what I've seen from Cornolle outside the UFC. 

Pick: Edwards O/U: Over 2.5

## Farid Basharat -345 vs. Kleydson Rodrigues +250

A great clash of Bantamweight prospects to watch. Farid Basharat is an outstanding prospect who showed a lot of great things in his win over Da'Mon Blackshear, which has aged very well. Kleydson Rodrigues moves up in weight here after some issues make Flyweight; he showed his power by getting a quick finish over Shannon Ross his last time out but also had a very tough debut against CJ Vergara, who was able to outpace him. 

I'll take Basharat in this one, as he has impressed me so far, and I don't think Rodrigues has the tools to beat him.

UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac Predictions

A bout between top-15 contenders has just been announced. Per the UFC, Brendan Allen will face Paul Craig on November 18th inside the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada, in a main event slot.

**This five-round main event fight takes place in the Middleweight (185 lbs) division.**

Brendan Allen holds a professional record of 22-5 (10-2 UFC) and is ranked #10 in the Middleweight division. He holds notable wins over Bruno Silva, Kevin Holland, and Andre Muniz.

Paul Craig is ranked #13 in the Middleweight division and holds a professional record of  17-6-1 (9-6-1 UFC). He has noteworthy victories over Nikita Krylov, Magomed Ankalaev, and Jamahal Hill.

**Official odds have yet to be released.**

Brendan Allen is currently riding the most impressive win streak of his career. After suffering his second UFC loss at the hands of Chris Curtis, Allen bounced back with a rear naked choke victory over Sam Alvey to start his five-fight win streak. Since then, he secured a unanimous decision over Jacob Malkoun and a triplet of rear-naked chokes over Krzysztof Jokto, Andre Muniz, and Bruno Silva. He'll now be looking to bring his win streak to six when he takes on the "Bearjew" Paul Craig.

After realizing mixed success at Light-Heavyweight, amassing a UFC record of 7-6-1 in the division, Craig chose to drop down to Middleweight, where he took on Andre Muniz in his debut. After a competitive first round, Craig would begin to out-grapple Muniz before stopping him at the end of round two with heavy ground-and-pound strikes. Craig will now look to go 2-0 in the Middleweight division when he takes on Allen.

Brendan Allen Takes on Paul Craig in Huge Middleweight Headliner

The UFC is in Singapore this weekend for a stacked card of action headlined by Featherweight veterans Max Holloway -833 and Chan Sung Jung +500, also known as The Korean Zombie, going head-to-head. This card also features a huge matchup for the Women's Flyweight division as surging prospect Erin Blanchfield -156 takes on top contender Taila Santos +122. I went over every fight on the main card and gave my picks and best bets, so let's get into it.

## Max Holloway -833 vs. Chan Sung Jung +500

Two legends collide in our Featherweight main event. Max Holloway has a signature style of crazy volume and insane durability that has made him one of the most fun to watch fighters in the sport; he genuinely drowns opponents with punches like very few others in the sports can, making him a difficult matchup for anyone. Chan Sung Jung returns here off his title loss to Alexander Volkanovski, where he looked a step behind a prime version of himself; he has power and a slick submission game, but there are more questions off this layoff.

I'm picking Holloway, but the large number makes him unplayable here. I think this fight reaches the later stages, and he likely gets a decision or possibly a late stoppage, but the prices aren't good enough for me to bet it.

Pick: Holloway O/U: Over 2.5 -217

## Anthony Smith +105 vs. Ryan Spann -133

Rematch here at Light Heavyweight between two established vets. Anthony Smith has been to the top of the division, showing a well-rounded game and his toughness despite recent struggles. Ryan Spann is a powerful puncher, although he has major flaws in his defense, and his chin is not great.

I'll take Smith here as an underdog after what he did in the first fight, as I don't think he has regressed or Spann has progressed enough to justify this number. 

Pick: Smith O/U: Under 1.5 -189

## Giga Chikadze -256 vs. Alex Caceres +195

Classic striker vs. grappler matchup here at Featherweight. Giga Chikadze is a tremendous kickboxer with crazy power in his kicks, especially his signature "Giga kick" to the liver, which has stopped several opponents. Alex Caceres is a veteran with a very slick ground game and tricky standup that has served him well at times, like his highlight knockout of Julian Erosa.

At this price, I will lean with the grappler here in Caceres; if he can get this one to the ground, he can negate much of the danger across from him and possibly even get a finish with his submission skills.

Pick: Caceres O/U: Under 2.5 +160 

## Rinya Nakamura -833 vs. Fernie Garcia +520

This is a showcase spot for a very bright and fun-to-watch prospect at Bantamweight. Rinya Nakamura has quickly become a name to watch with his incredible wrestling credentials and powerful striking that he showed off in his debut earlier this year, knocking out Toshiomi Kazama in under a minute. Fernie Garcia looks to pick up his first UFC win here after several disappointing showings against Journey Newson and Brady Hiestand; he has decent boxing but has not impressed me much.

Nakamura should dominate here as he is one of the most explosive and dangerous prospects in the sport; however, with him being such an early finisher and Garcia having never been finished, I encourage everyone to exercise caution when looking into the props for this matchup.

Pick: Nakamura O/U: Over 1.5 +122

## Erin Blanchfield -156 vs. Taila Santos +122

Likely title eliminator between two very talented young Flyweights. Erin Blanchfield has quickly become one of the hottest prospects in the sport with her dominant grappling game that has rendered several opponents helpless, along with an improving striking game. Taila Santos returns here off a very close loss to Valentina Shevchenko that many believe she won; she kept that fight close using a very high-level ground attack and earning several dominant positions early.

I've got Santos in this one, as her game is much more proven, and she has the best grappling game of any Blanfield opponent by a very wide margin.

Pick: Santos O/U: Over 2.5 -263

## Junior Tafa -149 vs. Parker Porter +116

Heavyweight scrap opens the main card. Junior Tafa is a very good kickboxer who lost his last fight with Muhammad Usman because he was outwrestled despite hurting Usman several times with his big power. Parker Porter has been a good test for young fighters over his career, with his solid ground game and decent hands being enough to find a path against lower-level guys.

I like Tafa to be able to defend against any grappling attacks from Porter here and find a knockout early in the fight, as he has serious power that I am not sure Porter can take. 

Pick: Tafa O/U: Under 1.5 -112

UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie Predictions

Following a memorable pay-per-view in Boston where we saw Sean O'Malley realize his dream and become the UFC bantamweight champion, the UFC travels across the world to Singapore for some action one weight class above, at featherweight. Former champion Max Holloway is looking to stake his claim at another shot at the title, and momentum is high after an impressive win that halted the hype train of Arnold Allen. On the other hand, Chan Sung Jung is looking to get back on track after some rough losses. Zombie has been fairly inactive as of late, fighting only once a year since 2019, and is 1-2 in his last three fights. His last outing against the champion Alexander Volkanovski resulted in a bad beating that saw the fight stopped early in the fourth round. 

A win is crucial for both fighters here to maintain relevancy in this division, and it should be a good one.

The PFL Playoffs continue tonight, with Welterweights and Lightweights looking to punch their ticket to the million-dollar finale later this year. You can't miss the main event at Lightweight as top seed Clay Collard +115 looks to continue his dominant season against former UFC star Shane Burgos -135. I went over the entire main card and gave my picks and bets, so let's get into it.

## Clay Collard +115 vs. Shane Burgos -135

A fight of the year candidate could take place here in our Lightweight main event. Clay Collard is a fast-paced action fighter who has been here several times before, although he has never looked as good as he did this season with an unmatchable pace and some nice improvements to his ground game. Shane Burgos gets a chance to redeem his season here after coming in as a replacement; we know he has big power and a well-rounded game that is tested against very high-level competition.

I like Collard here as he has looked incredible this season and is much more comfortable with the format than Shane Burgos, who has had several lackluster showings in his PFL run.

Pick: Collard O/U: Over 2.5 -200

## Olivier Aubin-Mercier -450 vs. Bruno Miranda +350

Last year's champion returns for a run at back-to-back Lightweight titles. Olivier Aubin-Mercier has been flawless since entering the PFL; he has a tremendous ground attack and has scored several knockouts recently. Bruno Miranda gets this chance after two decision wins this season, one of which he was very close to getting a finish against Ahmed Amir; he has powerful striking and good cardio to go with it.

I've got Aubin-Mercier here as he is just on another level from the opponents Miranda has faced so far and has shown no signs of slowing down.

Pick: Aubin-Mercier O/U: Under 2.5 +145

## Sadibou Sy -153 vs. Carlos Leal+133

A rematch of last year's Welterweight semi-final goes down here. Sadibou Sy is a very long kickboxer with a clean style that he has developed well over the years, his grappling has been a concern, but he has worked hard to bring it up to speed of late. Carlos Leal looks to avenge his only PFL loss here; he broke onto the scene last year by upsetting heavy favorite Ray Cooper III in style and has carried that momentum since getting two knockout wins this season.

I'm expecting a similar result to last year, as Sy has continued to improve his game and had a strong season with some nice highlights. It's not that Leal hasn't looked, but I have little reason to believe he has done enough to reverse last season's result.

Pick: Sy O/U: Over 2.5 -218

## Magomed Magomedkerimov -750 vs. Solomon Renfro +525

The first Welterweight semi-final gets the playoff action on this card started. Magomed Magomedkerimov is a veteran of the PFL format and is red hot coming into this with two first-round knockouts this season and a previous win over last year's champion, Sadibou Sy. Solomon Renfro got this spot off a big knockout win in his only fight of the season; he is athletic with big power but has been finished by most higher-level opposition he's faced.

I'll pick Magomedkerimov here, but there is no value in this number or any of the props, in my opinion, as Renfro is dangerous and skilled despite being outmatched here.
