A massive top-5 bout has just been announced for UFC 291. Former Light-Heavweight Champion Jan Błachowicz will welcome the Former Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira to the 205 lbs division, per Dana White

This fight takes place in the Light-Heavyweight (205 lbs) division.

Jan Błachowicz holds a professional record of 29-9-1 (12-6-1 UFC), and is ranked #3 in the Light-Heavyweight division. He has notable wins over Israel Adesanya, Aleksandar Rakić, and Luke Rockhold.

Alex Pereira holds a professional record of 7-2 (4-1 UFC) and is ranked #1 in the Middleweight division. He has credible wins over Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland and Bruno Silva.

Official odds have yet to be released.

Jan Błachowicz is coming off a frustrating draw against Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of UFC 282. The two were originally scheduled for a three-round co-main event fight, but as the matchup between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka fell out, the two were promoted to a five-round title bout. Błachowicz would fight intelligently for the first three rounds, heavily damaging Ankalaevs legs. However, he would be dominated in rounds four and five, leading to the draw. Initially dejected and feeling undeserving, Błachowicz has changed his mentality and is eyeing his sights on one final title run in his legendary career. But first, he'll need to turn back kickboxing superstar Pereira, and he'll be looking to use his dangerous striking and wrestling to get the job done.

Alex Pereira is coming off a massive knockout loss against his rival Israel Adesanya. After defeating him twice in kickboxing and once in MMA, Adesanya finally got one back on Pereira and KOed him in the second at UFC 287 to reclaim his lost title. Now, it's "Poatans" turn to show us how he rebounds from a loss. He'll be moving to the Light-Heavyweight division to take on one of the most formidable veterans there, Błachowicz. He'll be looking to make a title run in the division to avenge his coach, Texeira, who beat the current Champion, Jamahal Hill. He'll be looking to use his explosive striking to gain his spot in the Light-Heavyweight rankings.
