Joe Pyfer exploded into the UFC in 2022, going 3-0, with all wins coming by finish. He had previously lost on Dana White's Contender Series due to an arm injury in 2020 but returned to earn his contract mid-way through 2022. He then had an impressive UFC debut, knocking out Alen Amedovski with a lethal right cross. Pyfer is a complete martial artist with devastating KO power, and great grappling, allowing him to compete wherever the fight goes.
Meerschaert is on one of the best runs of his career so far, being 3-1 in his last four. He would rebound from his loss against Khamzat Chimaev by going on a three-fight win streak, his longest since 2017. All of these wins would come by submission. In his last fight, he shocked many fans by putting on a clinical performance against Bruno Silva. He dropped and submitted Silva with a guillotine choke in the third round. Of his 35 victories, 33 have come by stoppage, showing his incredible finishing ability. Meerschaert is a very dangerous fighter who can succeed wherever the fight goes and loves to show off his submission skillset in the octagon.
