UFC 288: Sterling vs. Cejudo is now wrapped up and in the books. Take a look at the results for the card below, as well as some interesting stats.

Early Prelims

Joseph Holmes vs. Claudio Riberio

Result: Claudio Riberio def. Joseph Holmes via TKO (punches) at 3:21 of round 2.

Division: Catchweight (189 lbs)

Referee: Gary Copeland

A tentative first round between the two men, with both trying to control the other against the fence. Both men left themselves open in striking exchanges, and in the last seconds of the round, Riberio landed some devastating ground and pound strikes, but the bell saved Holmes.

In the second, more of the same followed until the midpoint of the round. Riberio rocked Holmes with a huge level change right hand and followed up with a devastating knee. A few ground strikes later, the referee jumped in. A great performance from Riberio, who starts the card off with a bang and claims his first UFC victory and finish.

Phil Hawes vs. Ikram Aliskerov

Result: Ikram Aliskerov def. Phil Hawes via KO (punch) at 2:10 of round 1.

Division: Middleweight (185 lbs)

Referee: Gasper Oliver

Both men waste no time and jump into striking exchanges. Hawes is establishing heavy body attacks early. Hawes stuns Aliskerov with a right hand. Aliskerov lands an absolutely astonishing right hand and knocks Hawes out cold. Scary knockout from a very scary man making his debut. Makes an excellent callout against Bo Nickal.

Braxton Smith vs. Parker Porter

Result: Parker Porter def. Braxton Smith via TKO (punches) at 2:10 of round 1.

Division: Heavyweight (265 lbs)

Referee: Gary Copeland

Thirty seconds into the round, Smith cracks Porter with a huge right hand. After that, both men start wildly swinging, with Smith getting the better of most exchanges. Porter lands a lovely knee to the body, forcing Smith to shoot, which is quickly sprawled. Porter starts reigning down ground and pound strikes, and it's all over in the first.

Prelims

Marina Rodriguez vs. Virna Jandiroba

Result: Virna Jandiroba def. Marina Rodriguez via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Division: Women's Straweight (115 lbs)

Referee: Victor Ribeiro

Not even a minute into the bout, Jandiroba secures a takedown, much to the crowd's displeasure. She hops onto Rodriguez's back and starts landing more significant strikes. Rodriguez escapes the position. Jandiroba attempts to threaten a kimura but opts for some strikes instead. Despite lacking damage, an obvious round for Jandiroba, who finishes on top.

Jandiroba goes straight for a single leg in round two. Rodriguez is fighting the takedown much more, clearly realizing she can't fall behind here. Jandiroba attempts a leg lock, fails, but ends up on top. Jandiroba slits Rodriguez open with an elbow towards the end of the round, finishing strong on top again.

Knowing she's down in the round, Rodriguez starts strong, landing some nice straights and sneaking in a flying knee. However, she gets too confident, and Jandiroba attacks the single leg again, taking down the deflated Rodriguez. Jandiroba attacks an arm triangle but can't properly secure it. Rodriguez lands some scary up-kicks, but it's far too little too late as the buzzer sounds.

Khaos Williams vs. Rolando Bedoya

Result: Khaos Williams def. Rolando Bedoya via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 27-30).

Division: Welterweight (170 lbs)

Referee: Keith Peterson

Williams lands an early blow to the body. Both men connect in heated exchanges. Khaos is creating chaos, blitzing forward with hooks. Both men start to settle down and target each other's legs. Bedoya counters with a crisp straight. Williams lands a huge right hand. Both guys exchange against and land some bombs; Bedoya sucks the air out of Willams with a nicely timed spinning body kick. Competitive and entertaining first.

Round two starts, and the legs are a big target for both men. Williams lands a huge shot but overswings on his follow-up. Bedoya lands a nice straight. Williams sneaks a left in. Bedoya is starting to get lose and throw combinations. Williams stings Bedoya with a one-two. Looping left hook lands for Williams. Multiple leg kicks are landing for Bedoya now, visibly hurting Williams. Bedoya finishes the round with nasty leg kicks, and Williams lands some bombs too.

Down to the third and final in a close bout, Bedoya goes straight back to the leg kicks, as does Williams. Willams lands a hybrid hook-uppercut on Bedoya. Williams is having clear difficulties with his leg now. Huge shots land for both men. Bedoya is snapping some lovely jabs, landing on the mostly defenseless Williams. Bedoya is unloading some heavy combinations now, he attempts a takedown, but it's defended. Both men swing until the final bell. A close fight that'll undoubtedly be debated either way it's scored.

Kennedy Nzechukwu vs. Devin Clark

Result: Kennedy Nzechukwu def. Devin Clark via submission (standing guillotine choke) at 2:28 of round 2.

Division: Light Heavyweight (205 lbs)

Referee: Gasper Oliver

An absolutely insane affair in the first round, and what's crazy is it's a classic Nzechukwu round. Nzechukwu is rocked early and nearly finished but comes back with a nasty elbow and nearly finishes Clark himself. Elbows, knees, everything. Insane.

In the second, Nzechukwu starts strong with some lethal clinch shots, Clark returns with fire, and both guys have no regard for defense. Clark shoots for a lazy takedown, and Nzechukwu makes him pay for it with a tight standing guillotine choke. It's in. It's over. Clark goes out, another victory for the uncrowned comeback king Nzechukwu.

Drew Dober vs. Matt Frevola

Result: Matt Frevola def. Drew Dober via TKO (punches) at 4:08 of round 1.

Division: Lightweight (155 lbs)

Referee:

This is the one; if you tried, you couldn't put a more exciting fight together on paper. Frevola draws first blood with some body kicks and lands flush with a right hand too. Drew cracks him, and Frevola returns the favor. Beautiful body straight from Dober. Big land from Dober again. Another huge body kick for Frevola. Both men clip each other in exchanges. Frevola lands a superman punch. Frevola drops Dober with a shocking right hook and follows up with ground-and-pound strikes, forcing the referee to step in. Dober protests immediately but it's already done, and that goes in the books as a huge victory for Matt Frevola.

Kron Gracie vs. Charles Jourdain

Result: Charles Jourdain def. Kron Gracie via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Division: Featherweight (145 lbs)

Referee: Gary Copeland

Gracie immediately tries to get a hold of Jourdain, who unloads fast combinations onto the static Gracie. Gracie closes the distance and pushes him against the fence, but Jourdain survives the early scare. Jourdain cracks Gracie with a swift uppercut. Gracie pulls guard, but Jourdain escapes. Clear first round for the Canadian Jourdain.

Gracie starts with heavy pressure, and Jourdain attempts to pick him apart against the cage. Gracie pulls guard again. Gracie lands some lazy hammer fists and elbows off his back. Jourdain escapes back to his feet and lands a knee on the body. Jourdain unloads some heavy combinations now—heavy elbow for Jourdain. Gracie pulls guard again, but nothing comes of it. Two clear rounds for Jourdain.

Jourdain starts the round with some fast combinations. Gracie lands a hard straight. Jourdain is flowing with an uppercut-to-hook combination. Jourdain unloads a lethal combination on the body. Gracie pulls guard, but Jourdain explodes back to his feet. Jourdain spams leg kicks on Gracie, who sits on the mat. Another body combination for Jourdain. At the sound of the clackson, Jourdain lands a flying knee and a head kick, signing off a dominant performance.

Movsar Evloev vs. Diego Lopes

Result: Movsar Evloev def. Diego Lopes via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Division: Featherweight (145 lbs)

Referee: Keith Peterson

Lopez starts aggressively with some leg kicks and a right hand. He clips Movsar early, hurting him with a barrage of shots, but gets taken down. Movsar starts to land ground-and-pound strikes, and Lopez throws some off his back. Lopes transitions to an armbar and nearly gets it, but Evloev manages to escape. Unexpectedly close round.

Round two begins, and they exchange on the feet; Lopes cracks Evloev again as he tries to work behind the jab. Evloev lands behind the jab. Both guys trade on the feet, but Lopes appears to be slowing heavily. Lopes cracks Evloev again, and Evloev responds with a takedown. Evloev begins to accumulate a lot of strikes on the ground. Huge second for Evloev.

Evloev picks it up on the feet with his signature jab straight combos but also mixes in an elbow before engaging in the clinch. Evloev lands some strikes on the ground but mostly controls Lopes against the fence. Late drama as Evloev gets stuck in a leg lock submission but stoically keeps a straight face, and the round ends.

Jéssica Andrade vs. Yan Xiaonan

Result: Yan Xiaonan def. Jéssica Andrade via TKO (punches) at 2:20 in round 1.

Division: Women's Strawweight (115 lbs)

Referee: Vitor Riberio

Andrade refuses a touch of gloves to get the bout underway. Yan looks to get her jabs and leg kicks going early. Yan cracks Andrade with a big right, but Andrade comes swinging back. Yan lands another straight but gets clipped by some swarming hooks by Andrade. Xiaonan lands a massive right hand and finishes Andrade with ground and pound. Absolute statement wins for Yan.

Belal Muhammad vs. Gilbert Burns

Result: Belal Muhammad def. Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 49-46).

Division: Welterweight (170 lbs)

Referee: Keith Peterson

A patient starts for both men; Muhammad lands some good straight through the guard of Burns. Lots of leg kicks landing early for Burns. Burns lands a heavy straight. Burns shoots, and Muhammad lands a knee as he enters. Leg kick for Muhammad. Muhammad drops Burns with a jab, although he was slightly off balance. Body kick for Burns. Head kick partially lands for Muhammad.

Body kick for Muhammad s the first significant shot of the round. Burns lands a right, then a left. Huge right hand for Burns. Burns is pressuring a little more now, but more is needed. Straight for Muhammad. Right from Burns. Another body kick lands for Muhammad, and then two more. Muhammad finishes strong with a straight.

The third begins with a low blow from Burns. Burns lands a leg kick and attempts to throw Muhammad but fails. Muhammad is getting active -with his kicks. Jab from Muhammad lands. Most strikes thrown are being blocked, but there's more output from Muhammad. Hard body kick for Muhammad. Knee to the body for Burns. High kick lands partially for Muhammad. Body kick lands for Burns. Stiff jab for Muhammad. Another body kick for Muhammad. High kick and then a straight for Muhammad.

Burns opens the fourth with a leg kick, but Muhammad responds with a body kick and then a jab. Burns lands a right, but Muhammad responds again to the body. And again to the body. Left hook for Muhammad. Muhammad just blocks a massive high kick for Burns. Right hand for Muhammad. Heavy body kick for Burns. Muhammad eats a huge right from Burns. Follows it up with a heavy body kick. Then a leg kick. Muhammad responds with combinations. Another leg kick for Burns. Burns lands another huge straight. Muhammad responds with his own. Muhammad finishes strong with a right hand.

Muhammad opens with a high kick, and Burns counters with a right. Muhammad is landing multiple jab straight combinations now. Big right for Burns lands. Jab lands for Muhammad. A straight lands for Muhammad. Heavy body kick for Muhammad and then goes high. Both men exchange rights. Burns lands a lead hook. Both men land rights. Heavy one-two for Muhammad down the stretch. Burns is pressuring more now, sensing he's down on the cards. The round ends with more kicks from Muhammad. Disappointing fight due to the shoulder injury but a very dominant performance from Muhammad.

Aljamain Sterling (c) vs. Henry Cejudo

Result: Aljamain Sterling (c) def. Henry Cejudo via split decision (48-47, 48-47, 47-48).

Division: Bantamweight (135 lbs)

Referee: Herb Dean

The round begins, and Sterling starts fast. He is letting his hands go early. Cejudo scores the first takedown with ease, but Sterling scrambles back to his feet, back on the pressure. Sterling is throwing wildly with side kicks and flying knees. Sterling lands a heavy body kick and shoots, but Henry sprawls. They return to their feet, and Sterling secures his takedown, partially securing the back. Sterling controls Cejudo for the remainder of the round, landing some knees and a heavy elbow on the buzzer. Close round, likely stolen by Sterling for his efforts towards the end.

Both men try and pressure each other now. Cejudo is finding more success with low kicks and body kicks. Cejudo clips Sterling with a head kick. Sterling claps back with some low kicks and a questionmark kick attempt. Jabs land for both men. Sterling lands a beautiful spinning elbow. Cejudo nearly lands another high kick. Right hand for Cejudo at the end of the round. Sterling shoots with seconds to go, but Cejudo ends up on top. Another close round, a better effort from Cejudo, likely 1-1.

Sterling lands with a body kick; Cejudo responds with his own and then lands a flying knee. Sterling clips Cejudo with a right hand and then a low kick. Cejudo lands a stiff knee to the body on the break of the clinch. Sterling pushes Cejudo to the back of the cage and takes him down, as Cejudo tries to get back up, the Champion lands a flush knee to the face and then one to the body. Sterling and Cejudo exchange knees in the clinch, with Sterling getting the better of the exchanges. Cejudo secures a trip on Sterling in the dying seconds of the round. Great response from Sterling, all three rounds have been competitive, but it's predictably 2-1 for the Champion.

First of the championship rounds, and Sterling starts strong with low kicks. Both men exchange punches and kicks. Cejudo clips Sterling against the fence. Heavy body kick lands for Sterling, and a body jab. Heavy knee to the body for Sterling, and again and again. Heavy body kick for Cejudo—more clinch knees for Sterling. Cejudo pulls the splits against the fence, but Sterling secures the takedown at the end of the round, finishing strong with a combination. Scorecards likely all over the place but Sterling put in a sensible effort to the body that round, which could be 3-1 or 2-2 heading into the final.

Cejudo starts fast, landing a multitude of shots to begin. Sterling partially lands a spinning high kick. Cejudo lands a beautiful right hand on Sterling, followed by a low kick. Sterling kicks the body. Cejudo is pressuring heavily now, potentially sensing he's down. More low kicks from both fighters. Cejudo shoots for a single leg with a minute to go and secures it. Control Sterling for the rest of the round and finishes with some shots in the clinch. Cejudo closes out a highly technical fight with a clear fifth round. Judges' scorecards will likely see it 3-2 either way.
